Difficult to believe that the heat/humidity was the difference, particularly as this area just finished off some oppressive heat...

It may not have been as warm as yesterday, but a couple of days the heat index was over 100 degrees... many of these players grew up and played football in the south...
There was pretty significant cloud cover throughout the game. The heat wasn’t as bad as many thought it would be. This team just has a WR3 playing WR1 right now and the top two wideouts can only separate from off man. As soon as Dorsett and Hogan are pressed, they struggle. Couple that with an OL that was having trouble opening running lanes and what you have was this pounding we saw yesterday.

Meh. I think they are ready to implode. Tomlin is incompetent
If they’re hanging around and battling for the division as I expect them to, the return of Bell will be a big boost for the second half of the season.

I’m going with a 9-6-1 record, meaning that they’ll need to go 9-5 over their next 14. I doubt that Cincy is able to keep up their pace, especially with Mixon out the next few games. Whether that’s a divisional crown or a WC, I’m not writing them off just yet. I think people are overreacting a bit. AB, Bell, Smith-Schuster, and now Washington all pose a challenge on offense.

Yeah maybe. I'm thinking 7-8-1. That D is awful

...and Blake Bortles is God

Hogan can’t constantly beat man coverage, no, but he’s still a nice piece to have. He obviously benefits from weaker matchups, which should happen again when Julian returns. If they added another viable receiving option, Hogan would be an excellent WR3. As of now, he’s an adequate WR2. He is most certainly not a WR1 under any circumstance.
Bingo.

Our current #3 WR (Patterson) should never be higher than #5 here;

Our current #2 (Dorsett) no higher than #4;

Our current #1 (Hogan) no higher than #3;

And our future #1 (Edelman) is ideally a #2.

So herein lies the rub: who should pass muster as our #1 WR is not in the building, and more's the pity. Every other member of the group suffers as a result...as does their QB.

I was there and it was awful. I live in South Carolina and thought the heat at the game was unbearable.

Still, the team has to play where the game is. If Pats get home field in the playoffs, the Florida-based Jags might have to play in a foot of snow.
