EDIT: This was the only position (outside QB) Pats didn't address at all this offseason. Now they added pieces to every unit (as they usually do in FA) except S (Chung ext.). Quite a few good S options still available. They might also be happy with how D.Jones and Travis are developing. Plus another deep, quality, versatile S class in draft.

Depending on what the money comes in at, this could be the end of Allen then. At the least, it's competition for him.

Yikes this Guy is slower than Allen I don't see an upgrade.

If he makes it through camp heathy, then Allen may be cut. If they still view Allen as the better player at that time, though, Niklas’ health could leverage Allen to lower his contract to the point where the Pats feel he is a value. Else take a vet minimum somewhere else.

He's still young. Move him to tackle.

I remember when he was being recruited out of high school, some wanted him as a tackle.

He's essentially a blocker only, so it's definitely in the Allen mold. But, he's had trouble staying healthy.

I thought we were trying to get Faster on Offfense we minus the hare and add a tortoise??

He had me fooled going into the draft he was in, but I'm not very excited about him anymore. Just another of the "Gronk clones" who never did anything.

Could be a good move. His uncle is Bruce Matthews, so blocking is in his blood.
