I dunno man, the minuteman hat just doesn't do it for me. ;)
Me neither. Pat Patriot was indeed our mascot and appeared in gameday programs, but wasn't put on helmets until the second season, 1961.

Well here’s some positive news! Jees, seems like 99% of Patriots news has been negative since January

Avocados.

Also, work and pray boy, that's all that matters, work and pray :)

How many 70+ year old members do we have have in the forum returning for 2018? :D

Another year in Dante's university program should really help Croston and Karras (and even Waddle). That's great. I have less faith in those coming back from injuries.
I realize that some will chuckle, but I actually think that both Karras and Croston have decent potential.

So, not meaning to sound ignorant, but I figure that you’re the guy to ask: was the 1960 season the only season where they used this logo? Was it Pat Patriot from there on out?

I didn't follow until the mid-80s.

40’s the new 30, 60’s the new 40, death’s the new retirement.
In some unfortunate cases, 40 is the new 70. :DEverything was fine until I hit 40, then it shot downhill quickly.

Edit: it’s really not as funny as the emoji would make you believe

It is progressive, not an immediate onset of things that make you feel old.. the most difficult is memory, cannot tell you how many times I go to get something and forget what I went for when I get there.. can "name that 60's tune" after a few bars, but cannot remember the name of a Pats Player or the name of a bush that was just planted...

Always good news to get Scar back.

I really do wonder if we have any succession plan in place though for when he does eventually retire.

Pats OL was pretty bad for that period in time without Scar in place.

I was looking for my facebook sad face, I see where the problem resides... 40s worked out okay for me, 50 onward was like whoa wtf, now what, give it a rest already...

Regarding your "Patriots Strike Back" poster, shouldn't it be franchise-branded "Scar Wars"?

I agree. Karras started some last year. And Croston is an OK backup. I expect both to make the 53. I don't that this has much to do with our need to work through the OT problem.

Great news. Great stability for the front line!

I just turned 59. I pinched a nerve in my neck 2 years ago and stopped working out. I just walked a lot.

I met a nice woman a couple of months ago and thought I better start working out again...cuz, you know!

Damn this workout stuff hurts!

Wonder how gonzalez did with weight program, adding pounds. Based on Clemson[?] tape, even if light, I'm impressed by his potential

This matters 100xas much as the rest. give him some waiver raw material and he'll make it work.

was the 1960 season the only season where they used this logo?
On the helmets, yes.
Was it Pat Patriot from there on out?
Yes, through 1992.

James Busch Orthwein bought the team from Kiam, paid off the debts and had exactly one agenda: Move the franchise to his hometown St. Louis. He even had Stallions helmets and jerseys made up. He also 100% bought in to league/media propaganda that the Patriots were "a national embarrassment, a league humiliation, broken and ridiculed" etc. etc.

The facts were of course exactly to the contrary. The team on the field suffered three (3) losing seasons, after having 1 during the previous 13. Foxboro Stadium was flimsy and outdated, but not crumbling like those in Cleveland and Philly, and others. The Patriots never experienced prolonged futility to compare with the Lions, Packers, Giants, Bears and others. The Patriots already had a world-wide fan base, and people had repeatedly made the trek down Route 1 to watch and support the team when it was winning.

Orthwein ordered the makeover, saying that our color scheme was "historically inaccurate"

upload_2018-3-1_17-8-5.jpeg...yeah, nothing wrong here...and, he's preparing to snap the football, something they do on almost every single play

And the Tagliabue ("The Patriots damaged the league") assisted by (NYJ) Goodell NFL Properties happily and hastily came up with basically the same thing that was booed out of the stadium by Patriots fans in 1979.

Kraft says he prefers our real logo, but that hasn't meant anything for the players on the field the last 25 years.
