The dreaded question of 'what if'. This year the playoffs have been/are wide open. Ah, IF the Patriots just had a Vince Wilfork (or even just a ted Washington) to anchor the middle to keep teams from running all over them in December/January. It wouldn't have guaranteed anything but it would...
The future is always undermined but we can use historical data to assign probabilities. Tom Brady is an extreme outlier with emphasis on extreme. As such, Patrick Mahomes or ______(fill in name of next top of the line QB) being able to reproduce the career of Tom Brady has a starkly low...
Patrick Mahomes has proven himself to be a QB that any franchise would be extremely lucky to have. Of additional note, Patrick Mahomes will not unseat Tom Brady as the GOAT QB.
Both teams have more talent than the Patriots -- for the 2021 season. For the Bills the 2021 season is now over. Within, at most, a few weeks the 2021 season will be over for KC. Who has the better team for the 2022 season is TBD.
Bills going into KC and absolutely showing they can beat anyone. But allowing KC to get into field goal range in just 10 seconds? I suspect that is going to be talked about a lot by Bills Nation after their season ends in a handful of minutes.
It's incredibly hard to win the SB. You not only need the team to put together the right pieces but the pieces need to be put in the right place consistently. You then need the injury gods to be on your side and you also don't happen to run up against that one in a thousand Buster Douglas moment...
I'd say that "tried very hard to lose that game" is an understatement. That was shocking. Somehow they won but that was, IMHO, an appalling performance within the context of a full 60 minutes.
What a bizarre statement. I wasn't making excuses for anyone. Pointing out the Special Teams played horrid for a playoff is pretty much undeniable. Pointing out that if they just played marginal STs, even GB's poor offensive showing would still have allowed GB to win the game.
Tom Brady is the...
49ers are a paper tiger.
The interesting thing about it all, though, if a paper tiger can put whatever they got together at the right time(January), they can make a run. Just need the ball to bounce their way a few extra times (which is always very possible).
The opinion from my 49er friends...
That was ugly on a big scale. Weather aside and the Packers poor overall offensive showing, they still could have easily won this game by just playing simply satisfactory STs. #1 seed and arguably the best team in the league playing a clearly inferior opponent, and to get victory they just...
The Patriots looked not bad at all in some early season losses, they pulled it together for an extended period of the season, then suffered what a number of teams over the many years have suffered, seemingly irreversibly degraded/degrading performance in the last month of the season. That...
The run D is a concern, no doubt. But this would not be the first BB team that had a defense more than a bit worrisome going into the playoffs that found a surprising next gear (this D is far less worrisome than some years past). Man we had some seriously feeble defenses that played alright come...
