Round 1:

Nnambi Asomugha, Safety, Cal Bears:

Fifth ranked safety, drafted to play corner and all the top ranked corners were gone (if you consider Eguene Wilson a corner).

Tyler Brayton, DE:

Was drafted before higher-ranked Chris Kelsay, Cory Redding, and DeWayne White. Worked out well for the Raiders before they moved him to OLB.

Osi Umenyiora, DE:

22nd ranked defensive end coming out of Troy (by Scout). Drafted in the second round. Worked out well for the Rams.

Anquan Boldin, WR:

19th ranked wideout taken with the 54th pick.

Dallas Clark, TE:

Second best tight end coming out of Iowa was drafted by Indy before top ranked Jason Witten.

Terrance McGee, DB:

Fourth round pick was ranked bellow the top 20 for CBs.

Assante Samuel, DB:

Projected sixth to seventh rounder taken in the fourth round by the Pats.

Lance Nimmo, OT:

Not even ranked amongst offensive tackles, but was taken in the fourth round.

Yeah, its not all of them but they are some of the most obvious. Sometimes these reaches turn out to be better than what the media gives them credit for.

Good find...Osi worked out well for the Giants though.

You need a susbscription to NFLDraftScout because your previous statements are fallacies according to the aforementioned website.

Chris Kelsay's been better than Tyler Brayton has. Him and Schobel are scary on Buffalo's line.

I remember Ty Warren at 13 being considered a reach and was listed in the 30-40 range on most sites I looked at then.

:yeahthat: Just a spot check of that (generally far more reliable) source shows Asomugha was the 4th ranked corner; Dallas Clark was the #1 rated TE, etc. etc. Not saying there aren't successful "reaches" (Mankins is a classic example), but most of your examples just aren't accurate.

Look at the 2004 draft.

Matt Schaub was the 12th ranked QB but was the 5th QB taken.

Nick Hardwick was taken with the 66th pick but was projected as a mid 6th rounder.

Bob Sanders was the 6th best S but the 2nd taken, a round too early.

And while Jason David isn't exactly great, he was a 4th round pick by Indy that was projected to be an undrafted free agent as the 28th ranked CB, behind a lot of guys that aren't in the NFL anymore.

Does this mean he might be the anti-christ? That would be good because me and Richard Seymour already hate him.

Yeah, 66 and 6 would be the mark of the beast

Do you think the Colts would rather have had Jason Witten now?
