I think one thing that is different now is that the NFL is far more popular than it was 15-20 years ago when LA had two teams. Back then baseball was still king and basketball was rivaling football for the number 2 most popular sport in the nation. Now NFL is king.

The problem with LA has always been that they are a front runner town. So that means that they will probably have some problems even with the new popularity of the NFL. Although, the trend is when a town gets a new team, it sells out initially. Even Jacksonville did that.

The only thing I don't get is, didn't LA not give a damn about the Raiders or Rams when they were out there? What makes anyone think it would be different now?
Don't forget that the Pats almost got moved to St Louis despite many a people giving a damn about it. It's was much more complicated than you think.

CA is like NY because they have many NBA ,NFL ,and baseball teams than anybody else.

I live in CA too.

They'll have to erect bullet proof walls.

If I'm a Jacksonville Jaguars fan, I'd be a little nervous right now.

I think the raiders should be moved back there.

They would probably be better off, that stadium they are in now looks like an old piece of crap.

The Chargers still make the most sense. The fan base for the Chargers aren't that far away and many of the Chargers fans are from just south of LA anyway.

The City of Industry is a good spot, equidistant from downtown and the "suburbs" if you want to call them that. It's an easy drive from places out to Anaheim or thereabouts.

Regarding fan support, a lot of cities don't support a crappy product.

I know some dudes from SD, and they do not consider themselves Los Angelenos, at all. Losing the Clippers, and Donald Sterling, to LA is one matter; losing their 45+ year NFL franchise to LA is another matter entirely.

Little Jacksonville and poor, doomed New Orleans make the most sense to move, IMHO.

I remember some conspiracy theory saying that was why Mario Williams was drafted by the Texans...the NFL forced the Texans to take Williams, so Bush could go to NO, and then when they moved the Saints to LA all the USC fans will be Saints (or whatever they would call themselves) fans.

How about Buffalo? When you intentionally take home games to another country, that should tell you something. I would think Ralph Wilson has visited the Los Angeles Football Stadium website a time or two. Maybe scoping out the best parking spaces.

it will be a nightmare of a traffic jam since there are only two major highways going to the city of industry, the 60 and the 10 whereas downtown LA has several major highways and even those get jammed during sporting events. But at the same time city of industry area is fairly an easy drive in and out of there

They may not consider themselves part of LA, but geographically it makes the most sense especially since San Deigo itself does not sell out their games and have resorted in the recent past to making fans of other teams that come to their game buy tickets from less popular games to get tickets to see their team play in San Deigo.

I really doubt that a large number of Chargers fans would turn their back on their team if they moved "up the street" to Los Angeles. I bet a large number of them will keep their season tickets and make the treck.

Personally, I was prepared to keep my season tickets when the Pats were planning to move to Hartford eventhough it would have been an hour and a half trip each way.

The Bills are most likely preparing for a permanent move to Toronto. The league wants to go global and a team in either Canada or Mexico is the most logical first step. The league would probably provide a ton of economic assistance to the Bills to move to Toronto.

The Chargers are selling out Qualcomm these days and are looking to build a new stadium in San Diego. San Diego is a growing city and the Chargers are a team on a rise so I don't see the NFL moving the team. Plus if a team moved to LA then they would become the natural rivals of the Chargers, so that could make two games a season seem much more important.

The Jaguars moving makes the most sense to me. They hardly ever sell out. That annual Harris Interactive poll constantly shows them in last place in terms of fan support despite having a good team. The franchise really has no tradition yet, so it wouldn't be as big of a deal to move them. The Los Angeles Jaguars rolls off the tongue.

The Chargers had 91.9% home game attendence in 2007 which is the third worst percentage wise in the NFL. Only Buffalo and Jacksonville were worse. San Deigo was also 21st in average attendence with 65,502 per home game. So the numbers do not support your claim. Besides, one year isn't enough to salvage a team in an area especially after they came off a 14-2 season the year before. The Chargers have yet to prove San Deigo can support a team.

Moving the Jags make a lot of sense, but maybe not to LA. The Chargers have more of a cross over fan base in LA while the Jags have no ties to LA.

Seriously? The Skydome (or whatever the hell they call it now) doesn't have a large football capacity. Doubt they are building a new stadium any time soon. Toronto isn't exactly an economic wonderland. Free agents wanting to play in Canada? Don't think so.

I'm not saying you are incorrect, but that move doesn't make much sense to me.
