He'll be 37 years old when the season starts.

I’m assuming most of you see this as a clear cut “He’s retiring” situation, but – something I felt like discussing on here regardless.

Our WR's as of today...

Wes Welker
Chad Jackson
Kelley Washington
C.J. Jones

he went thru a lot of rehab last year, so I think he gives it another go.

Until Moss signs, he's a definite re-sign... after that, time will tell. BB seems to love having him around. I know they talk of Faulk as Mr. Patriot, but to me, that appellation belongs to Troy Brown until such a day he decides otherwise.

I'm going to say they re-sign him. Because of these reasons:
1) Moss doesn't look like he's going to be re-signed at this point. At least, assuming he doesn't re-sign, since he hasn't yet.
2) The WR's in this draft aren't ready to play right away. They could get a WR in rounds 1 or 2 that would be very good, but they probably couldn't be a #1 or #2 this year. Not sure if Brown could be a #1 or #2, but I'm sure he could give it a go.

That's just my opinion.

One more go.
At least I hope so. Even if it's in a limited role. TB is the epitome of what it means to be a team player. This man is a true role model for youngsters involved in sports.

Jerry Rice ended up retiring at age 42. Also was a Pro-Bowl/Super Bowl starter at age 38.

Just posting the most recent reference.

He will also be just 1 year older than Marvin Harrison when the season begins.

I hope he retires with dignity, not as a player with diminished skills..

The Troy Brown era is over, he could not compete at the end of the yr, and Belichick gave him one last token apperence against Miami.. He had a great carrer, and was glad he was a Patriot..

In another day or so, when Randy Moss is lost to free agency,

Troy Brown will be re-signed at the veteran minimum to appease

the season ticket holders and the Patriot's fanbase.

I believe Troy will retire there just isn't a role for him on the club. Maybe they will bring him back as a coach.

I hope he retires with dignity, not as a player with diminished skills..

Hey, people were saying the same thing with Favre before the 2007 season…

Not the most comparable of situations at all really, but again – just throwing other examples out there.
