On last night's Best Damn Sports Show Period on Fox, host Chris Rose asked Philips what it feels like to be headed up to Foxborough for ACFCG, prompting Philips to label the Patriots fans the worst in the NFL, and added that he could not believe the things that they hear from the nasty Boston fans at Gillette. That atmosphere brought smiles of sympathy directed at Philips from Rose and co-hosts John Salley and Rodney Peete.

On a lighter moment, Philips, in jest, said the best way to beat the Patriots would be to kidnap Tom Brady before the game. This prompted host Rose to quip that Philips would be the leading suspect if Brady is indeed kidnapped.

If people from the New England can be anything, it's absolutely derisive and insulting.

They might as well say rude things to the other team because they sure as heck don't make enough noise during the game.

First of all, I hope Rodney and the team get pissed because this guy insulted the fans of New England.

Second, I resemble his remarks.

Were NOT the worst! Actually we are very giving. When Mangini came back here the fans worshipped him and tried all during the game to give him tokens of appriciation. Toy rats, bits, of cheese, We even sang songs to him. And even made some ARTWORK to show him. So how can he say were nasty. I don't get it.

Also, amusing little "nicknames" are a sign of affection around these parts. To know us is to love us.

Haha.

Oh and with Shawn Philips says this, you know we're just going to be even nastier this Sunday.

Youre right. Plus we all showed him and many more players, coachs and yes, even the refs that they truly are number ONE

The only one in that whole room who had a right to nod his head was John Salley. Everyone else, STFU!

I sometimes wonder how often people who make these remarks go to the games. The fans at the Jags game were very loud. The stadium might not make it echo much, but it was loud. No one sat down when the Patriots were on defense the entire first half.

what about New York (Jets) and Philly fans? Aren't they worse?

Must be a northeastern thing.

Shaun Phillips is a moron. He clearly has never taken notice of the Raider fans who show up to Charger games. They make Pats fans look like God himself.

And Philly fans are pretty bad. I mean, didn't they build a courthouse in the stadium to handle all the dumbies there?

Yeah, but Raiders fans are mostly ex-convicts.

He's right though, New Englanders are absolutely sarcastic pricks. Philly fans are just mean - they threw batteries at a guy dressed like Santa.

That's a compliment, right?

As a native New Englander, I moved to California after college. The hardest part? Nobody was sarcastic. Made me jittery, I didn't know how to talk to carry on a conversation.

They threw snowballs at Santa Claus.

They actually did an Outside the Lines special on that on Christmas Day, and the story was pretty funny. But still.

Let me explain. Philly fans threw batteries at JD Drew when he was with the Cardinals because he wouldn't sign with the Phillies when he was drafted. They threw snowballs at Santa. The jail and the courtroom was set up in old Veteran's Stadium not the Linc.

Great thread.

Have you guys been booing little girls while I haven't been looking? Shame on you!

The old stadium (Veteran's ) had one in the basement. The best part of Eagles-Giants games is whether there's more action in the stands or on the field.......Having been to both on more than a few occassions, Pats fans are downright refined in comparison......
Remember Philly fans are the ones who threw snowballs at Santa.....and it was a hometown Santa.......
