The Offense is Loaded

If they cut/trade Hollins/Boutte/Douglas they save like $11M in cap. I assume that covers all/most of what it'd take to sign Diggs for a year at this point?

X Brown
Z Doubs
Slot Diggs

Kyle Williams backs up all 3 spots and rotates in. Chism is the 5th WR, gameday active or inactive depending on special teams.

It's not like that's a super thing group or anything if you think Chism has potential and made the team for a reason last year. I look at the roster right now and we have probably 7 guys who belong on NFL rosters somewhere (Brown, Doubs, Boutte, Hollins, Williams, Douglas, Chism). Most you could reasonably keep is 6 last year and even that's overkill - usually 5 a better number. So just seems like a solid spot to consolidate and just bring back Diggs IMO. He was productive last year and should face much better matchups this year in the slot with Brown outside.

A truely horrible idea.

Williams and Chism have shown almost nothing.

I would much rather have Hollins and one of Douglas or Boutte for this year.

And as far as the offense being "loaded" is concerned:

Don't like ANY of the RBs after Stevenson & Henderson;
The TE position is a Complete unknown after Double-H;
We still haven't found an answer for the Slot position;
And of course, there are the two Yuge question marks at LT and now at Center, which are, like, you know, only two of the three two Most Important positions along the OL..

To say the offense is loaded is ridiculous hyperbole.
We do not know what we have with the OL.
There is no dominant rb.
TE situation has an aging Henry and an unproven rookie.
WR has no depth behind Brown and Doubs.
Drake Maye looked awful in the playoffs and SB.

If everything falls into place they could be good
Loaded no

The offense could be loaded. But it all hinges on injuries. It's not out of the realm of possibilities that both Bubblewrap (AVT) and Grandpa Moses are out for extended periods of time.

Game over, man?

And all eyes will be on TRex Campbell. But true connoisseurs will watch Wilson at center. He's the key. But there'll be growing pains with him.

So potential is, at best, good. That's all one could say if one is committed to reality.

And today is a day that ends in "Y'.

Of course, success depends on injuriess.

Should we say that the rams are loaded, or a top team, as long as Stafford, Garett, McDuffie and Adams stay healthy?

No team is loaded or even very good if they have lots of injuries.

Personally, I don't that it is useful to preface all our posts with "depending on injury and health" That is simply presumed.

And they all had top line defenses and had great records. You play who you play. They beat up on weaker, and not so weak teams, made it to the playoffs, and won three games with crappy conditions against three of the top defenses in the league. Kind of getting old the posters who keep posting about how awful this team is. Kind of pitiful after a while. We get it you love Felgar and are miserable wish you could love the jets fans who post here just to *****.
They’ll never “win” that argument due to two main factors:

1) You play who you play.

2) We were a 4-12 team coming into last season, so in theory, we “sucked” too. We got an “easy schedule” because of our poor record. Also, a couple of those “bad” teams had winning records when we played them. Nobody saw us becoming what we are now; besides a few of us here.

It is more complicated than last year's wins. I consider the betting lines, what folks are actually putting on their money on.

The patriots opened at 8.5 wins and quickly moved up 9.5 wins to start the season. Most here were in a similar ballpark. Personally, I remember 7.5 and 8.5, but that it just an old man's memory.

In any case, we were a longshot to get into the playoffs. I certainly agreed with that assessment.

With regard to we play who we play, our schedule this year (and last) is the same as BUF, MIM and the NYJ except for 3 games out of 17.

1st place NE plays 1st place Seattle
2nd place Buffalo plays 2nd place Rams

1st place NE plays 1st place Steelers
2nd place Buffalo plays 2nd place Ravens

1st place NE plays 1st place Jax
2nd place Buffalo plays 2nd place Houston

I would personally rather face Seattle, Pittsburgh and Jax than the Rams, Ravens and Texans.

Plus Buffalo has to face NE twice, which I think is tougher than NE having to face Buffalo twice.
