This supposition makes me think that we should consider the scenario that was posted here earlier as humor but might be worthy of more serious consideration: If everything was the same in the Page Six story except it was Adam Schefter instead of Diana Russini in the photos, would the conclusion be that Mike and Adam are two gays hooking up on the sly, or it was just two bros hanging out, or it was just a reporter interviewing a subject for a story in an atmosphere where the subject is relaxed and so less guarded?

If two guys were doing what they did in those photos I think the answer would be obvious. I still don't see how people can't figure this one out. She has a history of things like this. He drove 2 ****ing hours out of his way to go to that resort. He's an NFL head coach she is a reporter. She can go to him if she wants a story. Or pick up a phone.

People are twisting themselves into pretzels to try to explain this one away. They seemingly hooked up and have been for years. So what. It's a worse look for her professionally than him. So it looks like he is a cheater. Thats more the rule than the exception and hardly anything to go all defend the wall about.

Players tampering with other players, owners tampering with agents, coaches, you name it. There's no way guys agree to a deal the minute the tampering period opens unless they know about it before hand. Too many people have to agree, agents, lawyers, coaches, players, owners. What does how he reported Haskins’ death have anything to do with HIPAA laws? The way he reported the death was a **** move since he basically called him a bust while reporting his death, but I don’t even know he realized how his tweet would be taken and he quickly pull it down.

The JPP case is that it appears his medical records were potentially illegally obtained, but there is no evidence Schefter was involved in obtaining those records. There is no evidence that we know of that Schefter was involved involved in obtaining those records.

I did forget until now that he posted the records online which crosses the line. I don’t have a problem with him reporting the information on those records as long as he was not involved in obtaining them legally. JPP is a public figure and the story was news.

Bull. There’s no reason to resign if she is not guilty. You let the investigation play out and have her employer exonerate her publicly.

Even if her contract expires, it would be extremely beneficial for her former employer to publicly declare there’s just nothing there.

I think Haskins thing is overblown. He shouldn't have said that he failed to make the roster of two NFL teams when he announced Haskins' death, but it isn't like he outright said Haskins sucked.

I can think of many other people in the sports media with more black marks than Schefter.

And Russini violated a fundamental journalistic ethics code if she had an affair with Vrabel. It was a fireable offense. Add to the fact that she may have initially lied about it to her bosses when they came out to defend her. Schefter has never done anything like that.

The point is laid out in the first full sentence of the post: There’s no reason to resign if she is not guilty.

Given what the reports were about her salary, she’s losing roughly a quarter million by resigning. Not the actions of an innocent person.

Yup. Thought it was either that or they all have the greatest agent in the history of sports to get a deal done in 15 minutes after the tampering period light turns green. Always made me laugh to think about it.

And the NFL has to know. I don't think they want to go after one team for something like that when all teams will be pulled in.

I'm just trying to figure out what the rules are. Some people seem to be upset about the Vrabel/Russini thing because info is being shared that shouldn't be shared, yet your post says this is normal and accepted. Seems then the real thing they are upset about is that they quite possibly are having sex before/during/after sharing information. Or maybe they're upset because they're having sex regardless of any information sharing going on, yet most people admit sexual relationships with or without infidelity is also not unusual in the NFL.
