Patriots Rumor This is why Brady hates the Patriots and Kraft

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
I wouldn't give Brady a piece of my team either at a massive discount, they don't need him.

Winning games is all that matters, Brady being the public face of a team that sucks would get old real fast, let's see how much he actually benefits the Raiders.
The Raiders are used to sucking. Not to brag but I put a 25 year curse on them in 2001 and it worked perfectly.
That's over now and I won't curse them again.
They've suffered enough.

That's great timing with Brady there now too. I couldn't see myself cursing him. Not after all he did for the Pats.

Has there ever been a situation where an owner from a rival team has a statue in front of the other team’s stadium??

May need to tear it down

Factoid that should warm the hearts of all Patriots fans: a couple hours after attending his statue unveiling, Brady was on a flight back to Vegas. He couldn't bring himself to spend a full day soaking in the honor of a lifetime. "OK. That's nice. Adios!"

Kraft misfired with both the statue and early Hall extravaganza. Tom is unmistakably the GOAT, but all this reverence and appreciation from the franchise/fan base that enabled his fame and fortune is far from a two-way street.

I have read through this thread twice. I'm glad it has a title, because otherwise I would have no idea what it is about. How about a poll? Who's hotter: Jordon or Alexis Earle?

For me, they're both so close to zero degrees Kelvin that it's hard to say.

It's a little sad that the conversation (perpetuated ad nauseum) over whether Brady or Bill deserves more credit for the dynasty has morphed into "Which of the two is a bigger jackass?" Sic transit gloria mundi.

It's an ugly statue with a tiny head. Kraft should ask for his money back.
I agree. The statue is weirdly proportioned. Looks like Slenderman on steroids.

As someone who has seen the statue of David in Italy several times I'm spoiled. The artist (heh) knew human proportions.
Today we have tools like lasers to measure an individual's proportions perfectly and photographs, and best of all detailed video to capture the athletes body motions. The Brady statue is garbage. It's an "uncanny valley" representation.

Here's a photo of Tom after a Jets game in 1998. Something like this would have been nice.

That's interesting, since he was drafted in 2000.

Mark Davis sold Brady 10% of the Raiders for $220 million. Kraft sold 8% of the Patriots for $750 million. Brady couldn’t afford to buy a significant share of the Patriots.

And I think you have to own at least 5% of an NFL franchise to be anything more than a co-owner in name only. Under 5% and you are a passive owner with non-voting stake.

Davis was an idiot who sold 1/10th of his team at a heavily discounted rate. The guy had money issues and probably thought that Brady being part of the team would help with their popularity.

If Brady could have come up with the money, Kraft might have sold him a minority stake. Fact is Brady could only afford to buy a piece of the Raiders.

But I doubt Brady even wanted to buy part of the Patriots. Brady has no ties to this region anymore. He seems to only want to be in a place where his kids are or a destination place. He would rather be spending time in Vegas than the Boston area.
I believe Brady took on 5% of the Raiders ownership, and needed a financial partner for that 5%. (Seymour got .05%) given the Raiders valuation at the time.
Kraft took on some investors to cash out some money (8%) between Metropoulos and 6th street.
having investors would dictate that RK could not offer Brady a deal on valuation.
Brady also has/wanted a say in team decisions. Not sure that would work with Vrabel/Wolf here.

While texting remotely from the broadcast booth or flag football tourney in Bangkok. That would've gone over swimmingly.

What a shock. Our heroes have feet of clay. Brought down by women and egos. I still appreciate their greatness.

Don't forget about the part where he installs Alex G in the locker room to be his eyes and ears. Tom was a great football player, it is best that is his legacy in NE. The fans are up in arms over some tone deaf comments. Can you imagine the angst that would be generated if he became a meddling owner?

Brady and his partner, Tom Wagner, bought 10% of the Raiders for $240 million. Brady got half of that. So he probably paid about $120 million for his share.

Kraft sold 8% for about $750 million. That means 5% of the Pats would have cost Brady, $468,750,000. If Brady came up $469 million, Kraft might have sold Brady 5% of the team.

Even if Kraft looks at Brady like a son, that doesn't justify a $320 million discount on 5% of the team.

I believe we said the same thing
Brady has 5%. His financial partner has 5%
for the money they paid, RK would have sold for 50 cents on the dollar.
his other investers would have rejected the Brady offer, as would the other owners

Chargers were good matchups were also good starting in 2005 when the Chargers talked **** to NE after the 31-17 win at Gillette. This was why NE mocked them after the 2006 playoff win doing the "lights out" dance
One of my all-time favorite games for all the
reasons you mentioned. Very satisfying win.
Loved the " lights out" dance.

Sad but true

Actually, RK would have had to sell it to Brady 30 cents on the dollar to equal the Raiders' deal.

Mark Davis is a moron. Kraft is a shrewd businessman. No matter how much he loves Brady, you cannot leave nine figures on the table.

RK wouldn't. but if he tried, he would be sued by his other investors and rejected by the other owners

Well, Kraft didn't have any other investors at the point Brady bought the Raiders. Not sure about the other owners. Kraft has a lot of sway with them.
