Good move or not?

What I have seen of him I think it would be.

As an Austin Hopper replacement OK

They need a blocking TE.

Predicted where? By who?

I don't think it's very likely (no pun intended). If Vrabel wanted to bring in a pass catching TE who doesn't block, he'd be more inclined to go for Chig Okonkwo, who he drafted for the Titans

Average TE based on numbers alone... age is right, not sure the money will be...

Don't know - can he block?

I guess I wouldn't hate it, but they have to get better blocking out of the TE position. Likely and Henry in two TE sets doesn't give you much.

Don't think this happens. It's going to be Cade otton or the other te from Baltimore.

Maybe we swing trade mid season for mayer from raiders

By who? Is this actual news of just more echo chamber chat? Based on what? That he's a good fit? Because he's from Mass? Or because someone knows that there are actually talks going on?

Prefer Cade Otton myself wouldn't be opposed to Isaiah Likely. I think H Henry is close to Done: can't Block and disappears in Games: but don't tell that to Patsfans who overrate their own. IF Isaiah Likely is being mentioned they might move on from Grandpa Henry *good cap savings. IF the goal is to get Younger and more Talented at TE I'm not opposed.

I really like Mayer no pun also Cole Kmet from the Bears...way better TE than H Henry.

His numbers look deceiving but Andrews is their # 1 TE: Plus they have Flowers at WR and D Henry at RB. Maybe Isaiah Likely needs the right situation on a Team that's TE Needy like the NE Patriots.

I’m assuming it’s based off of Mike Reiss’ quick hits this morning. Likely and Onkonkwo are mentioned by names as speculation and the top on the market.

Hope not, would cost top dollar for an average TE.

One of ctpatsfan77's rules for interpreting sports headlines:

* "[team/player] predicted to . . ." = Not breaking news, just regurgitating someone else's article

* Headline that gives stats, especially contract value, without name = useless clickbait

* Headline that uses words like "bold" or "warning" or "5-word" = also probably useless clickbait

I've noticed a quite frankly disturbing trend among sportswriters these days. They have become less and less inclined to indicate something is speculation. There's plenty of headlines that basically say such and such player signs for some made up contract amount to some team. Then you read them and they say the team SHOULD do this deal. That's why I'm inclined never to believe a player is gone or signed until they are actually on or off the roster. Until then, I reserve the right be extremely skeptical.

Coincidentally I've noticed the same trend here at PF. This thread for instance states 'Patriots predicted to sign Likely' instead of 'talking heads speculate on possibility Likely signs with Patriots' but doesn't bother with anything as trivial as attribution of said 'prediction'
(sigh)

You must have seen the only touchdown he scored all season, because other than that he did nothing.

You wonder why I give you ****, but it's ignorant crap like the above post that lead to it. You want to get rid of a guy Maye leans on for critical first downs, who had almost 800 yards and 7 touchdowns for an overrated back up who had the same stat line as Austin Hopper, and only 1 touchdown. If you were the GM they wouldn't be able to beat a high school team.
