I am just under 6'2" tall, so I notice anyone 6'4" and taller (people a few inches, or more, taller than me). There are not a lot of them. I never see anyone over 6'6". 6'9" and 330 lbs is a large human being.

Kind of funny that 6'2" is still considered normal, but 6'4" is considered tall. No-one calls me tall.

When I lived on the South Shore of Long Island, NY and the Jets held their practices at a local University (Hofstra), a lot of the players lived nearby and I would see them when I was running on the Boardwalk. Couldn't miss them. A regular infestation. Then they started to mate with the local female population. A regular horror-type film, end-of-days scenario if you will. We were only saved because they migrated to New Jersey.

Until this point I've basically been putting any OT info into the RT thread. Probably time to bump this one.

One reason I'm cautious on Lomu and Iheanachor. Here are the teams they faced:

Lomu: UCLA, Cal Poly, Wyoming, Texas Tech, W Virginia, Arizona State, BYU, Colorado, Cincinnati, Baylor, Kansas State, Kansas.

Iheanachor: N Arizona, Miss State, Texas State, Baylor, TCU, Utah, Texas Tech, Houston, Iowa State, W Virginia, Colorado, Arizona

Aside from Texas Tech, hardly a murderer's row of top pass rushers. They haven't really been tested so will face quite the step up. Freeling definitely has the edge over these two in this area.

Well Utah gave Lomu priority at LT so that may tell us something. There are plenty of people who think Fano is a guard. i'm not sure I agree, but if we're going LT, it's probably better to target someone with the length, experience and athleticism to play there. Also, as things stand, Fano goes too high. That might change but probably not worth getting our hopes up for.

There are questions about Fano's length. Will be interesting to see how he measures/tests.

Lomu has quicker feet, and mirror beautiful, may have more length. Needs to get stronger.

Iheanachor held up better than both Lomu and Fano against the Texas Tech posse, did well at the Senior Bowl against good competition.

Freeling probably the longest, most athletic, most versatile and most combat tested of the group.

A couple of thoughts:

1. Schwartz talks about "bigger" linemen favoring the vertical drop. He mentions Lane Johnson as one. Johnson is 6"6" 325#, Campbell 6' 5/78" 318#. But if you look at them Campbell appears much smaller. I think this is because of his narrow shoulders and base. I've noticed in photos he doesn't really look that much bigger than Drake Maye.

2. Schwartz highlights how passive Campbell is about engaging DEs and punching. Is this possibly either a coaching issue, or an injury compensation, or both? Campbell plays with such a narrow base (one of my criticisms of him a year ago), and with his MCL injury, he may not have enough leg drive. I'd love to compare film with him pre-injury and see if he was doing the same things, or if this is a change.

Yup, he wasn’t able to get on that stance very often and was thrown away like a ragdoll. That sounds like a knee injury to me.
He needs to clean his technique but I want to see how he develops before I make any decisions. Bringing in competition will only help so I’m not opposed to bringing in another LT but I won’t discount him just yet.

I only see Freeling and Lomu as LT in the top 60, both would be very valuable and could play RT eventually. Honestly I’m not sure who else has shown the ability to play on the left in this draft.

I've said before - and I was not originally in the Will Campbell fan club - that I'm not going to rush to judgment based on his playoff performance while still clearly not recovered from injury.

I'd love a guy like Freeling who has LT/RT versatility, but I'm still on the "Will Campbell at LT" train for now.
