Wasn't he in a commercial for the Dodge Dart(?) too before then.

Which seems like an odd choice. Because no way a Dodge holds up to the longevity of TB12.
An old dodge dart with a slant six engine might give brady a run for his money

Brady also had the under armour advert where the Californians were mocking his Boston accent! Was pretty funny! “Under ahmah”

He may have i don't remember that though. But he and gronk never came close to the face time Kelce, Mahomes, and Even Reid got over the last few years.
The NE Patriots never fit the mold generated by the NYFL's mid-America perception and goal. Tom Brady blew the doors off of what was supposed to be the face of the NFL, a guy named Peyton Manning!

Not only did he do it once, he never let up! LFG!

Yeah Baby

For the past 25 years in American sports, we have known one constant: Everybody who doesn’t have the last name “Wahlberg” or “Affleck” hates the New England Patriots. Since the Patriots and some random backup quarterback came out of nowhere in the 2002 Super Bowl and shocked the heavily favored St.

Does not surprise me that the author of that article, the founder of Deadspin, comes off sounding very bitter about the Patriots. Deadspin was very anti-Patriots in its time.

Thank you i did not know that

Yeah, the author mentions deflategate as if it were a real cheating scandal instead of the NFL setup to bring Brady and the Patriots down.

So true.

Imagine the public/media reaction to the "-gates" as well as the championships had Brady been QB of the Colts, and Peyton QB of the Patriots.

The funny thing is that Manning, the silver spoon scion of an NFL family, was positioned as the aw-shucks down-home everyman. Now the Patriots Fatigue crowd has to marshal up some hate for Drake Maye, who really IS that.

Growing up we had a 1971 (I think) Dodge Dart with the “slant 6” engine. Dad drove it for 12 years and put about 250,000 miles on it before giving it to our cousin. He had it for another 13 years and put another 250 K miles on it. By that time the body was as much Bondo as it was steel and the bench seats had been replaced probably 5 times but it still ran quite well.

Bought a used Dodge Dart for my wife in '78, with the iconic bumblebee paint job, yellow body, black roof. Got it from a dealer with a bit under 100K miles, but I think he had set the odometer back. Anyway, she drove it for six years, putting about 20K miles per year on it. Reliable as heck.

My first car in 1977 was a ‘67 Dodge Dart with a small 8, 273. Great car, woulda lasted forever but I backed it into a telephone pole.

I think we just need to accept that the Pats will not be embraced by the vast majority of people outside of us Pats fans. A lot of this is simply the natural fatigue most fans feel about rival franchises, fans often are OK at first and for while when the rival breaks through and succeeds but grow tired of the narratives that develop over time.

The best recent example for me is with the Chiefs. I liked Reid when he came over from Philly and was impressed with Mahomes when his career skyrocketed, but even in the initial period I couldn’t stand Kelce due to his d-baggery in Foxborough and flagrant envy of Gronk, and had nothing but contempt for the child abuser tyreek Hill. Over time I, and I know a lot of us, got tired of the phony narratives about their team, ownership, and community, especially the tortured comparisons to the Pats dynasties and stars. All that was true for me even before the entire fraudulent Taylor Swift storyline was shoved down the throats of those of us who simply wanted to watch football.

In the case of the Pats, however, I’m not expecting much of a grace period from rival teams fans or national media. Although Brady and BB are gone, the run they had was so long that it will be tacitly held against the new team, particularly since The Scatback and The Nebbish will still be prominent. It goes beyond that though IMHO. Having traveled extensively for business through the USA since the early 1980s, my perception is that there is a strong level of antipathy towards New England throughout the country. Our region in general and Massachusetts in particular is perceived as overly represented in most realms of public life and especially in entertainment and politics. Envy is a foundational element of the human condition, we all suffer from it probably a lot more than any of us would like to admit.

Enjoy this run folks and don’t let the disdain for the Pats take away from your excitement and fun.
Without New England there is no country. So there is that....I have seen the same myself.

One of the things that made me dislike the chiefs was.. unlike the pats in the dynasty years the chiefs were all over tv in commercials. I don't think brady was in a commercial until the end of his days with the pats, it was a mattres commercial.

This also reminds me of my old signature ..enbrace the hate its born of envy
So, you disliked the chiefs because the media and TV advertisers liked them.

whatever floats your boat!

And shame on them for not wanted the GOAT to be known for his commercials instead of his football.

IIRC Brady did a commercial with his entire OL very early in his career, maybe right after his first Super Bowl? Was it Visa, about the protection he had? It made an impression,n that he was sharing the wealth with his mates.

EDITED TO ADD:
It was Visa. This YouTube clip says it was 2005.

He also did a SiriusXM commercial with his receivers (Branch, Brown, and Givens).

Thats right, i got sick of seeing them every ten minutes pimping some product, I don't think i was the only one. Just like it floats your boat in attacking me over something so trivial. So just piss off
