I don't think it affects his availability to start week 1 so much as really sets back when he'll be back to "100%"

Tom Brady, who obviously got hurt in the first week of September and not mid-December, was back in training camp with time to spare BUT wasn't his normal self until really the final month of the season. In fact prior to the infamous 59-0 Titans game in Week 6 the offense hadn't scored a single TD over 15 yards or something crazy like that.

That really is a shame, never like to see great players get hurt. I dislike the team, glad they are out of the playoffs, but would’ve rather seen them lose without Mahomes tearing his ACL. Yeah, I’m thinking Kelce finally calls it quits as well. Chris Jones is gonna be 32 at the start of training camp. Mahomes will be 31 when next season starts, and he probably won’t be on the field. I think Andy Reid will call it quits soon too. This iteration of the Chiefs Dynasty is over. Will they be able to have a part 2 like the Pats did with Brady/Belichick ? Highly unlikely. Can Mahomes come back and dominate for 10 more years ? Doubt it, probably retires before age 40.
