Content Post Drake Maye has arrived . . .

This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

I still say that at this point Maye is the MVP and Stafford the Offensive Player of the year, because the Rams would still be good without Stafford, whereas it's doubtful that the Patriots would be over .500 without Maye.

Yeah if you're talking about who is more "Valuable" it's Maye.

I'd actually say it's Taylor for the Colts but a RB isn't winning MVP.

Maye is more valuable to the Patriots than Stafford is to LAR.

Fair or not, Stafford essentially has the MVP wrapped up barring a terrible remaining six games. Which is unlikely with the schedule they have.

I agree. But voters get stuck on stats. And there is the storyline of Stafford never winning & being closer to the end. They may also just assume Maye will likely win/compete for the award going forward.

With all due respect to Egbuka, Maye really should be a runaway winner for OROY this year. Last year with Maye playing for one of the worst coaching staffs in NFL history should be ignored.

Lightening has struck twice.

Could someone who played football tell me why this is a stupid idea?

With all the short yardage issues the O has had If I were Drake Maye I'd ask the team's film duder to load me up every Brady QB sneak of his career and study it like crazy to figure out what he did, what he looked for, etc and then emulate it.

Koppen and Andrews were good at it. I'd start there.

I don't think he was talking about Maye here. I think this was Purdy though he did not have 35+ snaps. Kurt sees himself in Purdy and takes it personal when he is critiqued.

Maye is going to be awesome but this is an interesting comment from Burns. I wonder what D coordinators are saying about Maye.

Too poised? That's a new one.

If you listen to what that meant, he said sometimes Maye just holds on to the ball a bit longer than he actually has time and pressure is able to get to him while plays are available to be made without the rusher getting to him.
I am paraphrasing a bit but it was a very useful take if Drake will listen or our coaches are self scouting and coaching it int him.

Ahh ok. Makes sense...especially with all the sacks...but they have been less lately.

Yeah, he's only had I think 1 in each of the last 3 games.

You mean OPOY? Maye is not a rookie

It’s the OL not the qb. On all of Maye’s sneaks, he can’t take a step forward cause DLs are at his feet instantly. No ground to step on, no push by the iol at all.

I took it as saying they want to try and make him not poised.

At least Burns won't have to worry about his ankle this game.
