This AFC is tight. We definitely will need to keep winning football games down the stretch. Huge to get this one today.

It really looked like he got the wind knocked out of him pretty hard. The big fear on that kind of play is a broken collarbone, in which case he would be favoring his arm, or broken ribs, in which case he would be favoring his side abdomen...he wasn't favoring either. That leads me to think he got the wind knocked out of him.
I thought it looked like London landed on his helmet. I was fearful of a concussion.

Some good and a lot of bad in this game with a touch of luck on the miss.

Held Bijan to under 50 yards on the ground. Streak continues in that department. Kind of figured he’d get his in the passing game and he did. He’s insanely good.

Drake London is an elite talent and he showed it once again at our expense. Disappointed by the secondary. However, scored me 38.80 points in my guillotine league and the Patriots still won. So at least there is that.

Atlanta is a pretty good defense. 6 sacks on the day, an interception and fumble recovery. They never gave up after being down 21-7.
Other team plays football too. They are a young erratic team that plays hot and cold but they did beat the Bills by 10 so they are capable of playing good football so noone should be surprised how well they played.

This oline and pass protection in general is still a work in progress, 11 sacks in two games is horrendous no matter who allowed them. We aren’t supposed to be winning those types of games but they do enough of the other things to compensate into wins somehow.

Regardless of the MVP talk and the recent hype over Drake Maye, don’t forget this guy is still in just his 2nd year. Vrabel, although a veteran coach now, still is into his first year for a bunch of guys he’s never coached before. They aren’t over the learning curve by any stretch and there will be hiccups.

Bottom line they won and did enough to withstand a a bad half of execution against an amped up offense and defense that was playing with momentum and confidence.

Savor the win and get ready for Tampa Bay. Should be a doozy with the possibility of a Bucky Irving return from ir.

This was a bad game for Maye. But looking at all of it... It is still decent from an NFL starter perspective. When your off games look like this, that's a good sign all things considered.

Oline has to be better. Maye is holding onto the ball, but it's not just him. Some of those sacks happened fast.
He is throwing so well downfield and leading the league in yards per target that he is fixated on it, does not see the wide open guys underneath for dumpoffs. Josh McD will begin to emphasize this more as it grinds down the opposing defense and allows you to land knockouts.

Gonzo was out there at the end shaking up with London, hopefully he’s good to go next week.

I am not ready to give up on Kyle Williams yet. Doesn’t look good for this year, but he is getting open. He needs to learn how to read defenses and make route adjustments or he will never make it in a McDaniels defense.
No-one is giving up on a rookie. You are not unique.

Boutte, Gonzo missing significant time will absolutely hurt this team. I think I’ve seen about enough from Williams this year. Kid can’t find his ass with both hands in the route concepts.

Gonzo…

This could very well be 5 weeks out given how long that hammy tweak took him.

Frustratingly, had he caught that INT that play never happens

Edit: Ellis also knocked out. He isn’t great, but we have NO depth
It was a head injury, not his hammy.

If it was just wind getting knocked out, he would've been back for the next series, no?

No news on Boutte of any kind?

I was at the game today, and when you watch the line live, you see how bad they are. Not like 2024 bad, but bad nonetheless. The few times Maye had a little time, he made some excellent throws (the TD to Douglas). Really need to shore up the line in the offseason. They have some good young linemen that have potential, but they need a proven stud or two, they are gonna get Maye killed. Most of the time he succeeds DEPITE the line.
Not going to disagree, but there are almost no quick hitters underneath either. Quick throws can make your OL look real good.
Far too many long developing route concepts.
