I hate this game now Callahan has been fired, i think it's gone from a blowout multiple score games to a potentially tricky one.

There's a long track record of teams raising their level in the first game after a coach has been fired mid season, a lot of them actually win despite being an awful team and a huge underdog.

Just win the game, any win will do me.

It is a 3rd straight road game. I wonder about teams who get 3 straight road games and their results. Ted Johnson's remarks about the negative effects of road games and the cumulative effects struck a chord with me. It rang true. So, what are the stats of teams with 3 road games in a row. How many win all 3.
From 2017 article but probably still applies

Over the last three years, the team in the third consecutive road game is 13-23 straight up and 11-23-2 against the spread. Over the last five years, they are 20-33 straight up, and 22-29-2 against the spread. Finally, over the last ten years, they are 35-69 straight up, and 46-55-3 against the spread. It’s also interesting to note that the over hit half the time over the last ten years, while the UNDER had the edge the past three and five years.

Over the long run there is a small negative, eliminating the ties the spread cover % is 45.5% so below the expected 50% a little bit. A disadvantage but not significantly so.

7 Point favorites seem pretty low. I would have expected 10.

On the betting front my $100 to win $3500 on the Pats to make the Super Bowl is looking better and better HA!

Wow , i will have to check this out lmaooo

Lol I don't think he does... what mental gymnastics Titan fans had to pull off to think Vrabel left them high & dry.
all I can think of is that they they think Vrabel “betrayed” the Titans with his comments about the Patriots during his HOF induction ceremony, and that he was trying to get out of his contract with the Titans so he could coach the Patriots.

I mean, it’s a stretch, but the only thing that could possibly fit.

Terrible timing. Teams always play hard for the new coaches first game. Revenge might not happen for Vrabel. Cam Ward can play.

Even as a person who wasn't high on the Vrabel hire (and yes, I am eating more and more crow on that lately, and happy to), if there is one thing this guy is known for across the league, it's his ability to galvanize people and rally them to a win. So, luckily, I think we have one of the best coaches in the league to tackle those sudden midseason-HC-switch situations.

Since 2020, teams that dismiss their coach midseason are 9-2 against the spread in the first game with an interim head coach, according to ESPN Research. Since 2014, that record goes to 15-4 ATS, with the teams covering the spread by 4.2 points per game and increasing their point differential by 16.3 on average.

A lot of them actually won the game straight up as a huge underdog.

I notice blitzes on the first couple to get Ward panicky, and then they're just getting home with four.
Also some terrible pass blocking.

God awful blocking, and to your point, he starts seeing ghosts quickly. Vrabel has made a few comments about actually hitting the QB and wanting the team to make that contact more, and that should be a huge point of emphasis: make him see ghosts and then take advantage of the panic.

Looks like Vederian Lowe - Layden Robinson and Demontrey Jacobs all now play for the Titans.

So..... Sounds to me that the new strategy is to fire an HC after every game and you'll be pretty solid for the whole year?

Wow interesting.

He left the game with a hammy injury and according to the now former coach couldn’t run after sustaining the injury.
Oh ok. Thanks for that information. Even though we should win this game.. due to the fact is the 3rd road game.. so many physical factors can come into play.. the defensive front was very lethargic against the saints. This is game you want to just win by 3 or 23.. get the win and get out with no major injuries.

But how many of those Teams were facing a red hot QB at the Time?? Drake Maye have just been so consistent lucky us.

Took a peak at their Board this morning. Apparently, we're their "Superbowl".

Interesting how they saw Vrabel as leaving the Titans and not getting fired.

God I want a 50-burger on them so bad.
Seems like Stan thinks the Pats had a bye week after beating the Bills, he doesn’t seem to know that we played New Orleans.

So…

Would firing your HC just before the SB improve you chances of winning?
