So that's Carroll's fault? BB released Glenn in 2001, so even Bill couldn't make it work.

Martin's loss was glaring when the Pats played the better teams. Edwards was a complete no show in many games against better run defenses. He averaged a whopping 2.8 yards per carry and 2 rushing TD's during the last half of the season not counting the blowout loss against the Rams where he ran for 196 yards. In fact, 45% of his rushing yards came from 4 games and 26% of his yards came from the last two games of the season. So where was he the rest of the year? He wasn't as good as people want to believe. Watch what some of the commentators say during the games in the 2nd half of the season where they criticized him being completely ineffective. Tony Carter was a downgrade to Sam Gash.

Pats were eroding starting in the 1998 season. Martin was the catalyst for the Jets, the Bills re-emerged with Flutie and Miami had a young defense. Peyton Manning and the Colts came out of nowhere in 1999. Jacksonville had been coming for years and had no business not making the Super Bowl in 1999.

It seems like you don't Carroll just because.
The Ron Borges Libel Campaign was very effective locally.

I was watching old games and highlights from the Carroll years and he was under fire during his first season. They had a winning record during that time of the season with injuries. Absolutely ridiculous.

I thought the Raiders were going to be pretty good this year and it wasn't all that surprising we lost in week 1.

I thought...poorly.

Pats got a long way to go. Chargers made Geno turn back into a pumpkin. 3 picks wow.

Watched the TPA-HOU game part live and part via NFL's highlights on u2b.

I was pretty impressed by Baker Mayfield. Almost everything he did was fast. Fast hands not just on passing but also when making handoffs. Fast reads. On the first TD, he hit his third read. Impressed that he was fast enough making his reads that he didn't run out of time. The thing that doesn't look fast about him is his foot speed. He had some nice runs but only when he darted through the line into open space. If someone chased him, he was caught.

His biggest problem was the Texans pass rush vs his OL. His second biggest problem was TPA's special teams. A doinked field goal, a punter who sleep-walked his way into a block, and a kickoff return squad that gave up a TD. Oy vey!

Am not a TPA fan but overall I thought they deserved their win.
