He has played less than 900 snaps his entire career.
The vet minimum is overpaying for him.

They could give an injury settlement and then he would not be on the team/IR'd

Only if it's projected that he'll be healed during that time. If the injury is projected to be a long one, then no, they can't. For example, if he tore his ACL, then there is no way the team can give him an injury settlement because he won't be healed. However, if it's a hamstring pull, then, yeah, they could give him one and he'd be gone.

However, since it wasn't announce what the injury was, there is no way to know what's going to happen.

Skipper never started more than 5 games in a single season for Detroit. He spent 5 at LG in 2022 and 5 at LT in 2024. So it's a major over-statement to say that he was their Starting OT. By the looks of it, he was actually pulled from 2 of the 5 starts at LT in 2024.

I know people have mentioned Logan Brown. But didn't the Pats get to see him first hand in the Joint Practices? If Minnesota is cutting him, what does he really have to offer the Patriots? I'm curious because I, admittedly, don't know enough about him.

Keep expectations for Maye and the rest of the team realistic.
He is not Josh Allen or Josh Herbert
Thye are not making the playoffs this year.
They still have one of the worst 10 rosters in the league.
Expect Stefon Diggs to NOT be a #1 wr and to act out at some time this year.

I'm thinking 8 wins this year, playoffs possible but probably not yet. Just too many question marks with the roster and I don't think we're deep enough yet to handle injuries. Either way hopefully we'll all watch this team and agree at the end of the season that the arrow is pointing up.

The draft failures by Wolf and especially BB were so egregious it's not an overnight fix. Breer basically said the same thing.
