Negotiations not going well (so it appears). would Jerry really let him go?

I wouldn't mind a big trade for this guy.

It depends on your definition of realistic.

If you mean "significant chance of happening," probably not IMO. Jerruh usually folds and overpays.

If you mean "there is a plausible trade they'd be willing to make," probably.

Unlike Hendrickson who will be 32, Parsons at 26 years old is a guy you shell out the big bucks for.
What's the asking price ? Draft picks and assets, not what it takes to sign him.

Not sure. Ex GMs are saying it's 2 1sts.

If it’s for 2 firsts then it could be justified, as there is a decent chance they would go Edge in the first round of the 26’ or 27’ draft, which would mean expending one 1st for a pass rusher, when for an extra first you would get one of the best in football.

If it’s more than that then pass.

Yep. I'm assuming he'll want something in the Miles Garrett range so there is that to also consider.

That seems a lot. You'd have to lock him down on a six year deal IMO if you're giving up that many assets. Even then I don't know. I guess my parallel is the Khalil Mack deal to the Bears. He didn't put them over the top. I think a trade like that with multiple R1s really needs to be limited QBs and (gulp) WRs that change your offense.

They'll eventually cave like they initially did with Dak, but they are stalling for a reason. He's not in the class as DeMarcus Ware was back in the day. That's an obvious guy you lock up who can line up against any OT. Parsons moves around a lot to find favorable matchups.

I like your logic.

2 firsts, Stevenson, Dugger, White
Parsons and a third and fourth.

I don't think they'd be ok adding a $40M player to next year's cap.

Logic? What logic? Defense is already the strength of the team. Giving up two first-rounders? And $40 million next season? Nope.

Abdul Carter in a Patroits uniform if we had played to lose in the meaningless Buffalo game.

there is no asking price... Dallas isn't trading him...

they have him this year and if they want to play the tag game, at least two more years after that...
Just a reminder: the second tag is no less than 120% of their prior year salary. The third is at least 144% of the prior year salary or the average of the top 5 QB salaries.
