I thought the Pats were usually 2nd to the Cowboys , why the slip to No 4 ... has this to do with ticket sales , less money or sponsors etc ???

Their record the last couple season leads to some of the things you listed.

Yeah especially that first pass rush, where he got beat on the speed move to the outside.
But it's the Chiefs, they don't call holding or illegal formation.

Maybe it's just the romantic in me but I've always just kinda thought The Capt's epitaph would read:

How long until he gets fully integrated into the Chiefs Oline play by lining up 2 yards behind the LOS!

Gotta disagree. Curtis Martin had just left as a FA for JETES and they needed a #1 back. Edwards production in his one season almost matched Martin's 1100 yd rushing and 300 yds receiving albeit for a lower average 3.8 v 4.0 which wasn't bad for a rookie. He was third RB taken behind Enis and Fred Taylor at #18. Pickings were slim with Ahman Green and Michael Pittman drafted much later and only other productive RBs.
