Micah is generational talent. I give up 2 firsts plus to get him
The odds on either of those two firsts becoming a star player are small. And much smaller for a player of Parsons ability. The money matters more than the draft capital.

McLaurin. Parsons will cost a t least 2 first round picks and 2 day 2 picks, that’s a price a team like the Lions could pay because they are picking at the end of every round, and their roster is essentially already built, it would be a move to get over the top and win a Lombardi. And I won’t be surprised if Jerrah would demand 3 first round picks for him. It’s too high a price for the Patriots to pay. They have too many needs and they can get a high quality edge player in the first round of next years draft.

McLaurin would greatly improve their receiving unit, and he can be gotten for a 2nd round pick, and considerably less $$$$$.

I disagree with this. For all of his misses after the first round of the draft Belichick consistently drafted great players who were major contributors with their first round picks, and I believe this front office, which includes Vrabel, can do the same. I love Parsons as a player but the cost is too high, and it’s one you pay to get over the top, not one a building team can pay.

* Belichick’s first round hits weren’t as good at the end of his run here, but he still got them Gonzalez, which was a big hit.

Has to be Parsons. I like McLaurin but it is much easier to find a player like him than it is to find a player like Parsons. Parsons is several years younger too.

Terry- A 2nd and Bourne would get it done.

Micah- 2 1sts and then some.

"Much easier to find a player like him" unless your BB and Wolf who couldn't draft a WR to save their lives. Certainly the hope is the new regime with Vrabs voice will be different, and KW will end the streak of futility picking at that position.

McC has had 5 1000+yd yard receiving season in a row. 4 of those seasons were with Heineke; Smith, Howell and Keenum. His one and only season with a real QB he had 13 TDs. 9th in receiving yardage since 2020, 11th in yards/rec, again with 4 of those seasons playing with complete scrubs. He is not on the level of Parsons, but he's definitely a special player.
Brandin Cooks had 1000+ yards 6 out of his first 8 years in the league. I don't remember anyone calling him a game changer.

OTs are still holding the team hostage. Year three.

Love to see it but not feeling it

Yeah, I mean like for an average franchise, not our particularly cursed outfit. It was the price they paid for success lol

I highly doubt they will get both, and it's honestly not that likely they'll get either. But assuming that they decide they can only get one of them, who would you go for?

Scary Terry is 29.
Parsons is 26.

Both want a lot of $$$.
we will get whoever signs an acceptable deal with us first.

If the second also does so, then there will be another decision to be bade.

I think it wrong to predetermine which one would agree to terms.

Obviously, if you only want one, you can make a decision before signing, give the other player's agent a last opportunity.

They're not FAs so they need to contact the teams, since neither has permission to seek a trade AFAIK.

What players as good as Parsons have the Pat's drafted in the first round?

This is like asking if I would rather spend a night with Ana de Armas or Sydney Sweeney. Neither will ever happen, so we are playing in fantasyland here. For the sake of playing along, I would easily say Parsons if we are just talking about player impact. If we are considering everything that would go along acquiring either one, I would say McC, as Parsons is going to be $10M per year, but more importantly, much much more draft capital.
10M per year? T.J. Watt is getting 41M per year! Parsons will want, and get more than that.

For a rebuilding Team (which the Patriots are), Two 1st Round Draft Picks AND at least a couple of Day 2 and 3 Picks (which is what Dallas would get for Parsons, based on what Chicago gave up to get Khalil Mack and Parsons is better), then you have to pay him, is just too much at this point in time.

Two 1st Round Picks would just be the starting point to get him.

That's because he wasn't.
