Never forget mine. July 15, 1971... Jim Perry for the Twins against El Tiante.

My dad took me... I was 10... we sat in the centerfield bleachers... I'd never seen grass so green.

0-0 until the bottom of the 13th, when with two on, Rico Petrocelli hit one over the Green Monster.

I was 5, the only thing I recall clearly was just how bad that men's room stank. I couldn't believe anything could possibly smell that bad and that was on Opening Day. I later discovered just how ignorant my little ass was when I went to a game in August.

May 24, 1987, an 11th birthday present a few days after my birthday. Bob Stanley, the last guy I wanted to see, was the starter. Dreary drizzly day in May, and an extra innings loss. Seeing the wall in person for the first time though, man did that take my breath away.

Not sure if this was my first game but the earliest I can remember. Ted Williams last game. I was 7. Don't remember much about it.
Most memorable first game for me was Game 7 of the 1967 World Series.
Bob Gibson. Lonborg was brilliant as usual but Gibson was a brother from another planet.

Seriously?!?! Wow. We were both there!
I never read your post. That's hysterical.

We were behind home plate, I was 5 yrs old. I remember very little about the game; my father using a popcorn cup like a megaphone, being disappointed that were were under the screen and not getting foul balls, the crowd going bananas when Rico homered.

It was a Yankees game with bussed Cub Scout Dens from Nashua, '69 or '70. We had decent seats up a ways behind home plate. I was on the end seat which was great until a fat slob Yankee fan with his arms full dumped a cold one all over me as he stumbled on the last step. Harsh life lesson about the squalid degenerates from the 5 boros. Could have been worse though, he could have landed on me. My glove never stopped smelling like beer, about all I recall.

A little OT but Lonborg truly was Gentleman Jim. He was in the class ahead of me at Tufts Dental and he was a class act the whole time. In addition to being 15 years older than most with his pro sports pedigree, he was friendly to all. The night they had the1967 reunion at Fenway in 1983 (Tony C. night) was the same night as a formal event for his Dental school class so they flew him in a helicopter in a tuxedo and that's how he arrived for the reunion.

Another 'we were both there' game. Without advanced warning my grandfather got me out of school for a 'family emergency'. I freaked when I saw him there and asked if someone had died, he told me it was more important than that

Literally before my time but I knew even then that your grandfather was correct.

I don't remember exactly when - 1960 give or take. I was a wee tyke and only know of it from family lore. My Granny knew someone who got her access to what was then the roof, back before all the corporate boxes and the press box are now. Folding lawn chairs on the roof!

... I have no idea who played.

Bro 99.9% of grandfathers just didn't do **** like that back then, that man rocked. I hope I'm 1/10th of the grandfather in our grandsons eyes he was in mine

I’ll take my diaper off and share my story..

Was 95 during Mo’s MVP year and he had a huge homer late in the game. Don’t recall who they played, but met John Valentin in pregame warmups and he signed a ball for me. First player autograph I ever got.

I believe it was 1975, I was 12. I can’t remember who they played.

Lonborg was maybe the classiest Boston athlete I can remember. As well as being a great pitcher.
