Don't we want 1-2 more as upgrades to Dial and/or Bolden, and as folks who might get lost of reps in case of an injury

Gonzo - most underpaid player in the NFL
Davis -
Jones (our midget top punt returner who starts at nickel back
Austin (our backup inside and out)
Dial (top STer)
Bolden

Dial is more of a safety than a corner

And no we aren’t set we only have 4 NFL corners.

Definitely need one or 2 more guys. I think this can come from mid round picks. Maybe one vet one rookie. But we have the top 3 so not too worried.

I am sure between the draft and the guys that shake loose post-draft through camp, we will grab a few more.

I'd love an upgrade, but right now I'd call it our second lowest priority after QB.

The Pats have 8 Corners currently on the Roster if you count Isaiah Bolden.

You missed Miles Battle and DJ James.

Battle is 6'3. He was recruited as a WR to Ole Miss but switched to CB halfway through 2020. He then transferred to Utah. Battle ran a 4.37 at his Pro-Day last year . Add that to the 4.03 short shuttle and 6.83 3-cone and he's clearly got the athletic ability. Whether that translates onto the field remains to be seen.

DJ James is 5'11 5/8 out of Auburn. He was a 6th round pick by Seattle in 2024 who was released at the end of Camp. He's got 4.42 speed, a 4.41 short shuttle and 7.24 3-cone.

Battle and James are likely practice squad guys, though a tall guy like Battle could work his way onto the team as if an injury occurs.

Pats have to prioritize other positions. They need to stay away from CB and DT early in the draft.

Right now I think we have good depth at CB.. Austin, Dial and Bolden all showed abilities. As we project to be in nickel alot especially for high powered offenses like the Bengals all our depth guys will be relied upon in some form or fashion. However I'm sure we will add more in the draft/UDFA as well.

Gonzo and Davis are very legit NFL starters outside obviously. Jones has been solid in the nickel position. Austin looks like he belongs on an NFL roster. Dial and Bolden seem like NFL caliber players in a reserve/STs role.

If they went into the season with that roster, I'd hardly look at it as a glaring weakness or anything. I also hardly think that they couldn't stand to improve from Jones/Austin/Dial/Bolden as the #3 through #6 options at the position. I wouldn't prioritize the position, but I also wouldn't pass on someone I loved at the spot either.

Miles Battle played well in that final game against Buffalo, he was one of the reasons we're looking at the #4 overall pick and not the 1st.

He is another large CB with supreme athleticism who might turn into a better pro than he was a college player. With Gonzalez, Davis and Battle they have three large super athletic and fast CB's, with Marcus Jones they have a smurf CB with the same traits. Some depth at slot CB might be nice, but they have the makings of a really good CB room.

Respect your opinion, but we’re gonna have to agree to disagree on DT. Williams, maybe Barmore, and….

Tonga is a decent backup.

There is need for depth but not with a first round pick.

I don’t see dial and bolden as nfl caliber players at this stage. Perhaps they could develop but we are one injury away from them being the primary backup to 3 starters. We need to bring in a veteran.

I'm intrigued by CB Darien Porter Iowa State. At the Combine, he came in at 6'3 195lbs and ran a 4.30 40. He was a H.S. Track Star and then started out in college as a WR and ST Player. He only shifted to Defense/CB his last 2 seasons. He's raw, but has all the tools to be a solid CB. He'd make an immediate impact on ST while being coached to be a Pro CB. He currently has a 3rd Round Grade (but I'd grab him in the 4th Round if he was there when we picked.) Could be like Tariq Woolen, the 6'4 205 lb 4.26 40 CB that Seattle grabbed a couple of years ago on Day 3 in the 5th Round.

I view White more as a DE. And I agree in the first round. When I hear early in the draft I’m thinking rounds 1-3. But that’s just me though. I would hit DT and Edge in round 3 for sure if the right players are there.

It depends. I agree white is best over the T in base but should be inside on passing downs.
I think edge is a much bigger need than DT, and if we did go DL I would ill d prefer another guy like white, big de/smallish dt.

I like Jordan Burch or Saviion Jones in the middle rounds. Kyle Kennard as an EDGE

I meant the first two rounds. Even the 3rd round is pushing it. They have spent a lot of money on two DT's, drafting another within the first 3 rounds with pressing needs on offense is just hoarding. You don't want to go the route of the NY Jets, Redskins, Jaguars and Denver Broncos where they kept collecting the same defensive players with nothing to show for it.

I would say it is more of a need based on Barmore. If he’s good to go then I’d look more in the 4th/5th. DT is pretty deep this year. I’m just not comfortable counting on CB. Blood clots worry me.
