2025 Draft: WRs

I'm leaning towards others now.

Thats fair. Something that I was thinking about the other day is while he can create some separation at the tops of the route now once he loses a step he may not be able to do the same thing. I have seen him compared to Kenny Golladay and that is the same thing that happened to him.

He did well for awhile and then injuries slowed him to the point he could not separate any more and Higgins falls into that same concern.

His route tree looks a little bare: that's a red flag right there.

For all the flak Tet get's around here he looks a heck of a lot better than Higgins. Tet's RP is not limited of course it's not perfect either.

I agree that the reception perception looks much better for Tet, that part of the reason that I am curious about his methodology, how many games does he chart, what he considers a success on a route.

I am very curious because I saw other things when I watched games, I did not chart routes. There are several "experts" that I appreciate their evals and they are very high on Higgins.

I love the differing opinions and it really is important to know what the evaluator likes most in the player position. Route running and hands are what I value the most in WRs, so that gets weighted more when grading.

I love speed but Isaiah bond seems like someone to stay the hell away from. Horrible blocking effort, and the whole combine thing, talking big game like you’re going to break the record and then you run a 4.4? Terrible look. Pass.

I'm all for competition but top 3 rounds are for guys you fully intend on giving roster spots. If BPA happens to be a WR then you take him but given the lack of talent in this class that's not likely to happen.

There can be room for a roster spot.

Luther Burden seems a classic boom bust prospect. Hayden Winks and Josh Norris do some good breakdowns on YouTube of the WR and RB class. They were pretty disparaging of Burden. He just has super high bust potential.

I think Jayden Higgins might be the best fit for the Patriots based on the need for a perimeter guy (Vrabel mentioned WR’s who can win contested catches this offseason a couple of times) and value, given he should be available around where we pick in the 2nd.

• Does a nice job of reading cornerback’s hips and feet in his routes.
• Uses frame and hand work to create separation from tight man coverage.
• Competitive and urgent in fighting for contested catches.
• Excellent body control, positioning and focus on fades.
• High-points throws with full extension and deadens feet near the boundary.

Its possible that he got his focus under control, or it could be a one year anomaly....I'm actually more worried about all the other weaknesses: wasn't good against guys he may actually see in the league; doesn't have great acceleration or top speed; and isn't a YAC guy.....reads like another possession receiver that would be best as a big slot.

He plays very well on the outside against the sideline. He's a super reliable receiver, just not a fast one.
