Imagine giving Moss 10 million a year after having the best season recorded in WR history.

It's not hard to imagine why this team can't attract WR. They simply don't pay them what they're worth.
Looks like Kraft is still living in the dynasty years when players would come here on the cheap to play with Brady or he simply doesn't want to sign a good receiver to a premium contract. The Steelers weren't going to let DK Metcalf get away so they put together a package to make sure he landed in Pitt. The Pats need to do the same or we will be in the same position next offseason.

I'm curious to see what happens with Sam Darnold (as well as the other potential starting FA QBs).

That could have a domimo effect on the top of the draft board, which will determine who is still available for the Pats at #4

Rapaport saying Godwin left $20M on the table to stay with the Bucs
Yet supposedly all you need is extra cash to sign players away. NOT

THEY DIDNT EVEN CALL ON METCALF BC GODWIN WAS THE FOCUS. This FO can do no wrong to a large group of Patriots homers. It's absolutely insane.
Or hear me out they didn't want DK that much. I know I didn't and I would put money on others feeling the same. This front office can and has done wrong, but Metcalf aint it.

all eyes on the Giants and Browns and Titans QB situations.

So they shouldn’t negotiate? They should just ask what a player wants then say “ok”? That’s not how multi million dollar business works, for anybody.

Are you referring to Metcalf? Because the Pats DID call and ask about him. Considering that Metcalf was given permission to look for a trade, there's a very good chance that he gave the Seahawks places where he did and didn't want to go.

The QB that Metcalf had the most success with was in Pitt last year. There's a good chance that they talked. Wouldn't be surprised if Wilson ends up back in Pittsburgh.

so, you want to TRADE for a player who doesn't want to play here?

That's not a real question. If the Patriots only had players who wanted to be here then you wouldn't have any Superbowls.

You have to get them here first.

Perhaps the patriots will wait to announce some deals until free agency actually starts.

I'm just bracing myself to embrace the suck for at least another season. Obviously, I hope I'm wrong. It's one of those expect the worst, but hope for the best things. And I've had this mindset before the offseason even started.

Patriots "hard" doesn't mean what it used to.
Patriots going hard means inflate the overall number so you can say you had the best offer to Schefter then have them guarantees that aren't really guarantees all over the contract.

Players care about guaranteed money and the money in the first 2 years of the deal, the overall number doesn't mean anything if the 20m extra is all in funny money with things like 2000 yards, Super Bowl, all pro ect.

Kraft has single handedly destroyed his own image the last 7 years.

Doubt that’ll happen, it’ll get leaked before then if it actually happens.

I hate that our media paints us in such a bad light it makes people not want to come.

Maybe we need a better pitch guy than Eliot Wolf, I always felt a GM should be a guy who can call and sound like your BF,
Wolf reminds me of the guy you would avoid if you bumped into him out in public.
