Right... they would have been overdrafting him at their original draft slot... so they traded down and got an extra pick.

and still over drafted him after trading down. Having an extra pick while over drafting a player is not a positive. Drafting guys that other teams want is a positive.

It only matters if either player works out. If not, then they wasted two picks instead of just one.

Sure looks like it in year one... I'm not holding my breath on either. I hope we cover our @sses just in case: whatever we get from them is gravy but we shouldn't depend on them.

Before everyone comments about taxes and Metcalf, you should realize a couple things: only 8-9 games are taxed in the state and also, Pittsburgh has a 5% income tax over and above the state's 3% income tax. For regular people, living in Pittsburgh means a higher income tax than Massachusetts. For millionaires, there's a 2% savings living in Pitt over living in Mass, but again, that's only for 8-9 games.

This isn't a lot of money we're talking about. Money should not have been an issue in Metcalf's decision.

If that's who it is, I'd be ecstatic. And then you can get one of the more project-y DLs on day 3 for depth (There will still be really good players in the 4th/5th round).
