Not happening. The will ship him out to get draft picks. They are not letting him walk for nothing.

Shipping of your star player to team he has no desires to be an apart of, is a terrible message to send to respectful free agent signings. Seattle is kind of like New England, they need all the help they can get attaining talent. DK is a star in the league and it would be well noted if he was done dirty be Seattle.

Cutting your star player with no compensation is an idiot of a business move. Its not happening.

My 15 year old son had a trade idea - - Pats trade Milton for Metcalf straight up. I don't hate it.
I think Milton is in a position to draw the greatest interest now - after that last game. He'd likely lose value if he played anymore as a QB that teams prepare for (not benchwarmer day). Now's the time to do it, and clearly SEA needs a QB.
They'd give up WAY more if they try to make a play for Ward or Sanders.

Just keep Milton while you have control. Use another pick to get DK if you want him. Even if it eventually hurts his value I'd rather develop Milton in case we need him. If he somehow hurts his own value then so be it. But he if develops you'll still get a pick and you didn't get rid of him until you knew for sure Maye was a hit.

My pipe dream is that Cleveland has chubs for Milton, and they take him for a pick swap. Never happen.

I'd do it, but there is not chance they accept it lol.

Milton has not shown enough to warrant a high round pick (which what they're asking supposedly)

I don't get it, LV had better options to explore
Well thats one trade partner gone potentially. I know Geno has started the last 3 years and led competent offenses doing so. But i still don't believe this to be a good deal for LV.

It's made even worse when you remember a few years ago they had a QB of this level if not better in Derek Carr. They let him walk, and now after 2 seasons of not having a plan and place and becoming worse, they pay for the same kind of guy and lose a 3rd round pick while doing it. WOW. Maybe the grass isn't always greener. And if they wanted to move on from Carr, they should have had the guy in place to do so first.

BTW while Carr missed time last year, he's been doing fine in New Orleans.

$66.5m guaranteed is hefty but that seems to be the going rate for a veteran NFL starting QB these days. It wouldn’t have made sense for them to trade their 3rd round pick for a one-year rental so extending him was the next logical step.

A third rounder for a proven veteran winner vs a 5th rounder for a guy with less than 4 full quarters of regular season action. Kind of puts a bit of perspective on the Milton trade. As far as value goes, the Pats got as much as they could have expected.

That being said, I still would have kept him, and hope his value grew over the next year or two. His talent is electric, supposedly his head, not so much

Yup. Fields only netted the Bears a 6th rounder last year, and he's shown more in college and the NFL than Milton has. In a QB-driven sport, with plenty of teams in need of a young QB, with a 2025 draft class lacking at the QB position, it says a lot about what Milton's market value is that the best the Pats could get for him is a 5th rounder, and only after including a 7th along with him. And I don't see how his value would have gone any higher after the draft with fewer roster openings across the league due to the rookie QB's being added. He wasn't getting any meaningful reps here unless a catastrophe happened to the QB room. He is being vastly overrated by some Pats followers among the media and the fans.
