And then there’s the depth at DT too. There are good pass rushers later, but they tend to be specialists whereas DT offers potential starters throughout.Potentially yeah. I think his ceiling is much higher.
He does great running and jumping in pads too, it just hasn't translated to infield production...yet. I accept what you say, and the reason for his lack of production does need to be explored, but having Myles Garrett levels of athleticism at least makes doing that exploration a worthy endeavour rather than just dismissing out of hand.Good God no. He did great running and jumping out of pads. That isn’t football. When it came to football he was no where near the player others were at his position.
Hard pass on this guy. At number 4 we can’t be taking a guess that he’ll all of a/ sudden turn it around against the best players in the world. We need to get a player who’s already shown they are great football players.
I am with you on this. Graham is a better fit at #4. He's not an athletic freak, but he's a high floor guy who will make a difference and he's a culture guy. I think it's easy to fall in love with with the combine show, but I think you look at the body of work as a whole and that pushes the guy down IMO. Graham is the defensive equivalent of Alt last year. In the trenches guy, leader, and culture guy. They are not in position to take a high risk guy right now.Over Mason Graham??
I get the love for Shemar Stewart he ain't small @ 6'5 290: if the Barmore situation wasn't there I would say yes.I am with you on this. Graham is a better fit at #4. He tested at 267 lbs.I get the love for Shemar Stewart he ain't small @ 6'5 290: if the Barmore situation wasn't there I would say yes.
A couple of Burgers could bring Him back up to 290 he wouldn't lose much speed either. He tested at 267 lbs.
They'd have to be Big-big-big-big Macs.A couple of Burgers could bring back up to 290 he wouldn't lose much speed either.
Steve used the Gholston comparison but Gholston put up production at the college level.Good God no. He did great running and jumping out of pads. That isn’t football. When it came to football he was no where near the player others were at his position.

I remember thinking at the time the dude was a freak. There was something that made him a risky pick, I don't remember what it was, but it turned out to be a Jete classic.Steve used the Gholston comparison but Gholston put up production at the college level.
Yup, you still have to accept coaching and putting in the hard work. I think he got away with just his athleticism in college from the neck down. It's not enough at the NFL level. Jets ignored the warning signs.I remember thinking at the time the dude was a freak. That's the problem all the way around, really. These guys are used to being the best athlete on the field their whole lives, only to get to the NFL and be a JAG. Now they come with that mindset and a bank account full of NIL money.Yup, you still have to accept coaching and putting in the hard work. I'm going to trust Vrabel to know if Stewart has what it takes to be productive from the neck up in the NFL.That's the problem all the way around, really.
