OT: The Chiefs had "Super Bowl fatigue"

He was kneecapped by his own offensive line. I know enough about OL play to understand what KC was doing wasn’t quality OL line play.

Was Mahomes good enough? No. But the Chiefs didn’t belong there. They magically received some interesting help to get there. He had no time.

So then tell me why he played so badly? Was he injured? ‍

I watched this vid of Kelce and he certainly wasn't helping ****:

Decent analysis. Does mention OL and some bad throws by Mahomes.

I was talking about the five years prior to this one... not this one.

The notion that Mahomes lost his magic, or changed for the worse is garbage.

His team got worse, and they met a better team in the playoffs.

In the mind's of some fanboys... football boils down to one QB playing all alone against one QB on the other side... it's hero worship, ignorant nonsense.
The 2019 Niners were a better team than the Chiefs and lost due to Mahomes magic.

Was it Mahomes two interceptions that make you think he was the deciding factor in that game?

I’d probably attribute it to Andy Reid’s superiority over Shanahan.

We really need another team in the AFC to boot KC from the playoffs. Baltimore seems like the next in line, but Cincinnati is KC's kryptonite if they can improve the defense. Buffalo has had multiple chances, but McDermott flat out refuses to address his weak defense. They need an outside threat at WR. They will never win with that guy as their go to WR who's names sounds like Shakira.
Baltimore’s kryptonite is their QB so they aren’t viable.

Niners have a better QB they win that game. Jimmy Trashcan had a stinker, he hits a streaking Emmanuel Sanders they win.

That was a HUGE loss for the ChiRefs. They went from being talked about as the greatest dynasty ever to 6th place all time.

I put the Pats dynasty ahead of the Steelers below because the Pats did it all with the same QB and HC.

KC may catch the Pats at some point but the Mahomes talk should go away. He needs to catch Montana just to reach a tie for 2nd.

Uhh, are we forgetting the second Pats run?

This - if even true - is beyond embarrassing. A real winner doesn’t get tired of winning.

I don’t think ANYONE, player, coach, or exec from us EVER said anything about having SB fatigue. That’s honestly such sad excuse to make….all the other teams should be saying “oh we had fatigue this week, it was t because we suck…”. Hey maybe we can add an asterisk* for this loss and make a special SB category for teams that get this…

They lost because Jimmy G was limited and made bad reads late in the game, the defense collapsed in the 4th quarter (including Sherman and Emmanuel Mosely blowing coverage) and Kyle Shanahan's bad play calling. Chiefs had no business winning that game.

He put them in position to tie the game, but Andrews dropped a pass and fumbled another previously. Jackson made early mistakes, but still had his team in position to win. For once, he was not the problem.

Until I see Lamar be a net positive for his team in the playoffs I don’t have any faith in the Ratbirds. Buffalo keeping McDermott around is the definition of insanity and what other AFC squads can even pretend to challenge KC? Barring any significant changes to the AFC landscape you can pencil in the Chiefs for SB LX today.

McDermott is reminding me of Bill Cowher. However, Cowher didn't have much at QB and kept running into better teams.

Maybe if Bo Nix takes the next step they could be a divisional roadblock to KC. They lost the first match-up on a blocked game-winning FG. I think Payton may have to give up some playcalling but the potential is there. He took them to the playoffs with a rookie QB

How Cowher went to the playoffs in 8 out of 12 seasons with this group before they drafted Roeth is beyond me...

Neil O'Donnell
Mike Tomszak
Kordell Stewart
Tommy Maddox

Even Big Ben was meh for a few years.

Cowher was a very good HC and put together some really talented teams, but he never had an elite passer.

LOL, you tell me....

If he wants to catch Brady he needs to start challenging Willem Dafoe for those Ultras. He turns 30 next year and has already played a lot of ball. Brady figured that out and started his inhuman fitness/diet regiment.
