Jalen Hurts: Opinions?

Yeah he's been in Two SB's already won one: Allen and lamar = 0.
Mac Jones would have been a SB champ with that much talent on that Eagles team.

I still don’t buy into Hurts.

No one does, and yet all the kid's ever done in college and the NFL is win.

I wonder how much Saban benching him in the SEC Championship game (where he was pretty bad), for Tua Tagavailoa colored people's perceptions of him.

I still think it's Mahomes 1 and I don't know who is even 2nd. Not to say they aren't good but who really has the best case for being 2? Hurts now has to be in that conversation.

Obviously Allen looks like it but he doesn't win when it counts.

Lamar is a freak but doesn't win

Burrow is really good and maybe you blame Cincy and that OL but not sure how you call him 2

Goff not as good as the above and loses as much or more.

Stafford is too close to the end

Hurts has now been to 2 and won one and looks like they going to be around for awhile. At least for today I say he's the 2nd best QB in the NFL.

No he wouldn't. We've seen plenty of loaded to the gills teams that tripped up because of the QB. Hurts was making big boy plays last night in the big moments to keep his guys on the field

He made the throws he needed to last night. KC focused on Barkley and did a good job.

Siriani is now among the best HC’s in the league with Reid and McVay.

Asinine thing to say. Mac Jones is a bottom half of the bucket when it comes to backup quarterbacks. Hurts has some flaws but is a big part of why the Eagles went to and won the Super Bowl.

Hey, Hurts did what good QB's do - he took his opportunity, in the biggest game of his life, and played great.

He's not (yet) a great QB, but he played great in the moment, and elevated his game. This win is completely on his shoulders.
Barkley was stonewalled, and Hurts won with his legs & his arm. Great for him.

He can still become a great QB, but at the moment, he has answered the question if he belongs in that top 7 active QB.
The argument becomes - is he better than Allen? better than Wilson? better than Lamar?
Better than current Wilson? Absolutely.

Good questions. He's tied with Wilson right now (who spent the next decade doing nothing to add to it), and is better than Allen and Jackson, who haven't even sniffed the Super Bowl yet.
Not going there.

If Allen or Lamar were the QB for the Eagles last night, the outcome is no different. Now, put Hurts on Buffalo. A team whose best receiver would be the Eagles # 2 receiver. No true legit receivers. Do you think he gets them to a failed TE catch of possibly winning in KC?

We can't ignore that he had a stacked roster around him. They have very few weaknesses. But....I'd certainly take him over Murray, Mac Jones, Lawrence, Mayfield, Love, and Purdy.

He's a top 10 QB for sure. A QB still has to make the pass when he gets time. He still needs to avoid turnovers. He did that sans one pick where someone was in his face.

The Prodigal has returned... come home buddy.

Dumb early INT but overall he played well - definitely one of the top 10 QBs in the league and rising. He can't make ALL the throws but he can make enough, and with his legs I dare say he might be approaching the Elite category?

Hurts played a good game no doubt about it but I believe Barkley had a lot to do with the win even when not having a great game. KC did a great job controlling him and forcing the Eagles/Hurts to win by other means. If the Eagles didnt have Barkley and just had some average back I think KC would have planned more to shut down Hurts and maybe nullified how well they moved the ball. We saw some plays were KC brought the pressure and they had success. They just couldn't do it enough and still focus on stopping Barkley which was their primary mission.

The guy didn’t fold when the lights were brightest. Good for him. He’s not an elite passer but he did what you need him to in that scenario: Win.

He's worked out really well for his team and, to me, that's all that really matters. Lofty stats are great and flowery comments and evaluations from established experts are terrific. But, if you consistently perform steadily, avoid turnovers and prove yourself to be dependable, I'll take you all day, every day. And far more often than not, I'll win.

Look at what having a dominating ground game did for Hurts. If they didn't have the ground game he did, we may have seen the Commanders in the Super Bowl because Hurts would be forced to throw which he isn't the best at. We saw in the Super Bowl the Chiefs sell out on the run and the front 7 was exhausted when it was time to rush the passer. When they got near Hurts, he just ran away from them. Also, we saw very favorable matchups in the secondary.

Eagles and Ravens have laid the blueprint and brought back the traditional RB. We'll find out if other teams get the memo.

Totally agree and to run the ball requires a solid offensive line. Its the foundation of the house but too many people want to start buying the windows before the footer is poured.

Hurts wins, doesn't make a lot of mistakes, avoids negative plays with his legs, lets his weapons make plays.
he has a great OL, great WR's, great RB and very good TE.
