Because it is too hard for innocent people to demonstrate their innocence regarding something that happened 10 years ago. There is a reason we have Statutes of Limitations in this country. It isn't so guilty men go free, it is so innocent men don't get punished for crimes they didn't commit.
I mean most of Bill Cosby's transgressions were decades ago and it's hard to say that many people are lying. The truth is, with people who have a ton of wealth and influence, there's a period of time where people feel like it's easier to just to do whatever it takes to go away and not deal with the mob of people who really want to believe the subject of their fandom is a hero. Between 2012 and 2016 Tucker was untouchable in Baltimore and there would have been a huge incentive to discredit the people speaking out and the team would have had his back. Now that he's declined and people aren't going to die on a hill for his reputation, people feel more free to speak.
Kraft won't sign him with these allegations and Tucker sucks right now. And no he's not better, he's one of the few starting kickers that ranks lower than Slye. So you're basically asking for a guy who is worse than what we have, is old and in decline so he's closer to out of the league, and has baggage. If the Ravens cut him, he's done.
That's for court, not for reputation. We have higher standards to lock someone up and take their freedom. That doesn't mean people are obligated to keep their mouth shut about someone wronging them because they wouldn't get a conviction. Anyways, in this case there's a pretty clear and easy way for Tucker to defend himself. The allegation is that he got banned from multiple businesses for his conduct. If the owners of all these places say that's not true, then he's clear. If they say it is, then there's credence to the story and it's much harder to believe him.
