Great offense. MVP QB. Defense seemed good. Start of the Gronk Hernandez pairing.

Did you think that was a SB bound team? And..were you shocked the Jets upset them? It feels like 9/10 times they win that game and likely wipe the floor with Pittsburgh. Beating GB in the SB with Rodgers would have been tough of course.

we were 14-2, destroyed the jets a few weeks prior on either mnf or snf. of course we thought we were going to the super bowl and winning.

that loss to jets was a ridiculous game, the patrick chung fake punt game. awful

Yep. 2nd best Patriots offense of all time behind 2007. Especially since this happened only a month before.

Brady getting picked in the first QB to end a TD drive and also to end his int-less streak was a really bad omen for that one.

You fearing this might be your story this year?

Yes, we thought we were winning the SB. The blow back from the Jets loss was so bad that Patsfans shutdown due to server overload.

This would be the high point for the Jets organization. They lost to Pittsburgh and never recovered. Luckily, the Patriots did recover and dynasty 2.0 happened. 9/10 times, Patriots win.

I'm not worried about KC losing in the division round. I'm blessed to witness 3 titles. I would be disappointed but get over it. Stuff happens sometimes.

I remember thinking the defense wasn't that good that year. I see they were 8th in points allowed. I looked it up and they gave up 7 points or less in 4 of their last 5 games so seems thy pushed that ranking up at the end which probably explains why the ending rank doesn't jive with what I remember thinking. That was one of those heavy zone coverage with poor secondary play, bend-but-don't-break defenses I hated to watch.

Still, I thought we'd go to the SB because every year I thought we'd go to the SB in that era. Fun times.

When Crumpler dropped a sure TD in the end zone that divisional game kinda felt like something weird was going to happen. That season we should have at least gotten to another SB..

IIRC they took the ball away A LOT on defense. 25th in yards, but 25 interceptions with 4 TD's. 11 forced fumbles with 13 fumble recoveries. ST had 2 blocked kicks.

Also the team with """"ZOLTAN MESKO"""" as their punter lmao.

Good attitude. Good luck but if course we're rooting against you. I might pull for you vs the Bills haven't made my mind up on that yet but pretty much go anyone else.

The offense was even better in 2012.

Oddly, Aaron Rodgers won the MVP over Brady even though Brady's stats were better. It's crazy, you should look at the amount of points they put up in 2012. Look at the rushing TDs compared to Green Bay's and even Brady had like 5 rushing TDs.

That was the year they cut through teams like butter. Gronk, Hernandez, Welker, Brandon Lloyd, even Woodhead caught 40, + Edelman, Branch and Ridley.

The defense was **** in 2010. They allowed at least 20+ point 10 times that year. McCourty made 2nd team All Pro and Pro Bowl, but the cracks were showing how horrible he was in coverage. It reared it's ugly head against Braylen Edwards taking his lunch money in the divisional round. Also, trading Seymour backfired on them as they weren't that great against the run and no inside pass rush. The Bart Scott comment of them not being able to stop a nose bleed was warranted.

I was watching highlights of games prior to Moss being traded and it was a colossal mistake. He was getting so much attention that the middle of the field was wide open for Welker, Gronk and Hernandez. Even though he was slowing down, teams weren't taking that chance yet.

Rex Ryan figured out that if they clogged the middle of the field and made them throw at Revis and Cromartie, he liked his chances. With that said, Pats had absolutely no business losing that game. NONE!

They would've blown out Pittsburgh as they usually did in playoff games.

I thought we'd steam roll the jests, i was shocked when we got beat. Maybe Fog Horn Leg Horns finest moment

If we were to rank the offenses, 2012's team would be higher. Ridley's only good year took the offense to another level. It's a damn shame Gronk got injured on a pointless PAT attempt in a blowout against the Colts and Talib tapped out of the AFCCG. Just another year the Pats should've been in the Super Bowl.

Yeah, 2010 was one of those years that felt like the true successor season to 2007. There was a point in the season where it felt almost like a SB win was a fait accompli.

2015 was like that also...until the injuries piled up.

It's hard to win Super Bowls. We were very lucky as a fanbase.

Should've been a great year, but the defense was inconsistent despite their high number of takeaways. The loss to the Browns and the close win against the Rodgers-less Packers exposed the holes in the D. Couple that with the offense just having a bad day in the playoff game against the Jets, and it's easy to see why it ultimately became a forgettable season for a lot of fans.
