Nick Wright is heavy into the New Years champagne a little early this year…

You have two QBs predicted to go with the first two picks, you don’t need a QB.

Could whomever you now pick at #8 or #9 be a bust? Sure, so could whoever you use the #1 pick on.

And next year at minimum you’re starting with two 1st round picks. You’re legitimately setting yourself up to have two top ten picks for a roster that’s dreadfully lacking in talent.

You’re insulting yourself from a potential bust by loading up with more chances. It makes total sense
There hasn't been a bust WR in the top 10 since 2017. Many WRs have gone that high and they've all been excellent. There have been a lot of bust tackles though.

I think he is just really stupid and tries too hard to troll people and does so idiotically.

Dude it’s not necessary to be a prick to people who have a different opinion of your binkie. For your information @Ochmed Jones has been a great poster here for probably 20 years. I don’t agree with all his opinions but to exemplify his level of knowledge I suggest you check out the season standings in the weekly picks contest, you will see that to this point his record is 178 correct versus 69 wrong plus 8 no picks which are counted as wrongs. So just this season he’s been right 101 times more than he’s been wrong.

We get it, you have your mind made up that the Pats need a WR with their top pick. That’s more than fine and many here seem to agree with you, but almost everyone here is able to express themselves without being a jerk to posters who see things differently. Also you need to keep in mind that guys like Ochmed, and even more so @BaconGrundleCandy who you were a prick to this week on a different thread, they’ve earned the respect of most folks here based on many years of contributing here. Bacon has probably contributed more content in this forum than any other poster over the past 10 years. Try harder please to review your posts before submitting them (or shortly afterwards if need be) and when you do to ask yourself whether you would want someone to converse with you the way you are about to with them.
Thank you for the critique and advice. I have been posting on this forum since I believe 2008 or 2009. Going on 16 years! Yes, I know them well. Very knowledgeable posters. I’m sure they are great family men as well. This is a public forum. We will disagree and people will get called out for giving perfunctory efforts and maladroit responses, but the tone never gets vitriolic. I don’t take any offense when people call me out when I’m wrong.

I feel very firmly that comparing Tet to Harry is ludicrous, and I’m perplexed why some posters continue to revise this narrative?

Ps Newton eh? I’ve lived and worked there for many years.

Bingo, all the busts are in the second round.

The last time the patriots picked a wide receiver in the top 10 of the draft, he became a multiple time pro bowler

What positions on the team are solidified. CB1, Kicker, Punter? They need help everywhere. Take what is there.

Edit: maybe QB. TBD.

We're not the Jets.. Though Wolf is about as good as the Jets GMs have been over the last 60 years.

Seriously..

The Team has a lot good pieces. They also have RG1, RB1, RB2, WR2, WR3, TE1, TE2, NT1, DE1,. They need LT, DT and CB as priorities. Especially CB since Jon Jones showed that he's toast.

DT and CB may be able to be addressed in free Agency. LT could be addressed IF Wolf puts aside the unwritten rule of not signing anyone who is 30+. But several of the LT have already signed extensions. (Bolles, Little)

Not sure if this was posted or not:

The Pats haven't been tanking to this point, they've been in many games including the Bills in Buffalo 10 days ago.

Whether we win or lose vs Buffalo this weekend doesn't impact either team, or any other team, in terms of playoff positioning. It would only shuffle around the order of the worst few teams in the standings, and affect the draft order 4 months from now.

So if we do everything possible to lose this upcoming game, I don't consider that tanking in the sense that Wolf was referring. Tanking is a strategy a team takes with a month left on the schedule, with all kinds of possible playoff ramifications. That does cheat the game. Here it would affect nobody negatively, including the fans in attendance and at home, who all want the team to lose and preserve the #1 pick.

How could you be posting since 2008 or 2009
Your honor. The defense rests

1 offseason? This fan base gave Wolf less than 8 months. I pity whomever follows him, they will probably get 8 weeks. At some point it will get down to one week.
One week, eight weeks, or eight months, trading Polk and Baker for McConkey shows that the GM is clueless. I don't need to see that draft day repeated over 20 or 24 months to know Wolf sucks.

Assuming we don't blow it and keep the first pick the only trade down I want is to the #2 or #3 slot. I was Hunter as he is probably the best player in this draft and plays a premium position.

Agree. Trade down. Draft Hunter. Grab an OT and Edge player in round 2.

If only the PFF Draft simulator was anything like reality. I tried a mock last week and ended up trading down at least twice and was still in the top 10 and obtained a load of 1-3rd round picks. Mind you I have not been able to replicate it.

I have no sound knowledge on this at all , but I just get the feeling that this draft will not be as bountiful for teams trading down ie: the return will not be as much as previous drafts.......but hey who knows for sure.

Whether they end up with 1st, 2nd or 3rd pick - we MUST trade down. Not far, just to top 10 area.
GET - high 2nd round pick + either high-level player (OT, DL, WR) or '26 1st round pick

We don't need a QB or a top pass catcher as a top 3 player. We need infusion of talent at value.
And we need to rebuild the OL & DL.

Have you ever stopped to consider that maybe Eliot and Ja’Lynn are lovers? There, I said it.

The trade makes perfect sense if you stop to consider these men’s feelings, you heartless brute.
Heartless is one of the kindest and most touching compliments for me in 2025. It is starting out to be a great year.
.

What I hope for is an elite 3rd down RB.. either free agency or draft. I think its this position more than any on offence we have missed since Tom
