I was just reminiscing...

If we lose this week by, say, 31-0, think we could get Tom Jackson to give an encore performance of "They Hate Their Coach" ?

I don't think too many people would disagree...

Kraft absolutely needs to step in right now and tell Mayo that he will remove this final game from the equation when it comes to his post-season review.

He needs to have a conversation with Mayo behind closed doors telling him to rest our starters/vanilla gameplan and that the 1 overall pick is more important for the future.

Of course you tell the media "we're trying to win" - otherwise you can get penalised pretty heavily I'd imagine by the league.

But this is 100% on Kraft now to step in and have that conversation, it would be gross negligence to forgo a haul of top draft picks. Otherwise Mayo is going to be fighting his best for his job, as any of us would be - which will leave us without a haul as we lost by a FG on the road to the Bills starters recently.

I'm at a complete loss as for the relevance of this game in the Mayo decision. What can possibly happen that can make anyone unsee and unhear everything else that has been the Mayo experience?

A decision must have been made already. There's no way the Krafts are sitting there waiting to evaluate how the team performs against Buffalo's backups in a meaningless final game. If they are then we're in even deeper trouble than we already thought.

Hold maye out due to concerns about concussion (play milton) Use it as a chance to look at some guys who haven't played much (play the backups). And use the current game plan and coaching strategies we've been using all year... and we should be good to go.

Unless Bob tells him he's safe, Mayo's in a really bad spot. If he loses to the Bills backups, that will be really embarrassing. If they end up beating the Bill's backups, that could drop them from the 1st overall pick to 5th. Mayo will be picking his poison.

If Maye is held out and other guys sit, I fear Mayo is returning. However, his leash will be very short in 2025.
