I think for now, we need someone that can run a professional football team. He may not be the guy in the end, but he is capable of getting it running like an actual NFL team again. He didn't have much choice. But again, we saw what he was once he didn't have all that talent. He would be coming here on a rebuild squad not on some hyper talented team. We need someone who can build something and maintain a standard while that rebuild is coming together. Not someone like Vrabel who will only look good once the team is fail proof.
Thank you again...lance doesn't understand we are not contending for the Superbowl: but we would settle looking like decent High School Team.I think for now, we need someone that can run a professional football team. Maye wasn't right after that unfortunate Head shot he was playing on adrenaline.Mayo should be fired for putting Maye back in that game. F*cking idiot.
I would hate for them to drop from 2 to 8 just for Mayo to salivate during his presser. Mayo is very Desperate for a meaningless Win.Could be a Bills home game next weekend
Did Maye speak after the game? Curious to hear what he says
I don’t think 8 is even possible. Wanna say 5/6 is most likely with a win next week.I would hate for them to drop from 2 to 8 just for Mayo to salivate during his presser. Mayo is very Desperate for a meaningless Win.
Mayo isn’t going anywhere.
It wouldn't suck. You have to let Vrabel decide
RK can bait and switch.Even if true, I'm sick of seeing this posted. There is not a single good reason to keep him as HC.
I know this: Kraft should give a few million to someone who knows what they're doing to recommend a GM/Scouting Department/HC/Coaching Staff, BEFORE the last game of the season. Then they can all be fired and we'll already be ready for Free Agency and the Draft. After the season is too late at this point!Could the Pats fire Mayo now and have an interim coach for next game?
Maybe McAdoo?
Do you think 5 or 6 gets us Tetora McMillan??I don’t think 8 is even possible. Wanna say 5/6 is most likely with a win next week.
Mayo is the Jordon Richards of Head Coaches we all knew Richard was going to Stink.Even if true, I'm sick of seeing this posted. There is not a single good reason to keep him as HC.
And, we will have to overpay for FA's this offseason until other players see improvement. Even so, what it would cost for a Tee Higgins will be a bargain just a couple or three years into his contract (as has always been the case). We also NEED Jevon Holland for FS!!!I think if the Pats open things up to a GM first and the GM picks his own coach then it’s a different story.
Sure the cupboard is a bit bare, but they have two key building blocks - a potential top 10 QB who is only 22 years old and athletic as hell, and a lockdown sophomore CB1 who has the potential to be best in the NFL. Those are huge.
They need a lot, but they have (probably) the #2 overall pick and $150M in cap space. Even more if they want to shed some of the contracts on the books now.
All of this together should attract coaching and GM talent; maybe not the absolute cream of the crop guys like a Ben Johnson who has his pick of the litter, but there should be lots of interest. They’ll also know that they really only need to go close to .500 next year and look competent doing it to make the fans happy after this debacle season, so they don’t have to have immediate results as far as playoffs, etc.
I know the Rod Rust Era quite well. Also before Rust and after Parcells (until they got BB). Those were not good times.I can handle losing, partly because in professional sport, it's damn hard to win. If Mayo had coached the Pats to be a fundamentally sound football team beaten not because they didn't try and play hard but, because the gulf in talent is too much for the players to overcome, then fine. Instead, we're watching something resembling the Rod Rust era.
The Patriots need a top to bottom organisational rebuild.
I thought Rod Rust was better honestly...thew up in my mouth after I said that.I can handle losing, partly because in professional sport, it's damn hard to win.
