Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

right
Barmore and Bently have contributed a lot this year
Barmore is back. I'm sure he's been slowed down some by the blood clots, but you're putting an awful lot of influence on Bentley to explain the difference on defense from last year to this year.

If you knew your Patriot history, which you clearly do not, you would understand how Sullivan losing millions impacted the team.

I agree, but it is hardly the first time this team has been the butt of the League's jokes.

So when did you become a fan? February of 2002? If you think this is as bad as it has ever been for this franchise, you are phenomenally ignorant of team history.
They were the Boston Patriots when I started following them.

I see no relevance of the Suliivans' nonsense to the present situation, and the idea that we should feel fine about the Krafts and about the dismal state of the team because of such ancient history is just plain obtuse,

I think you're right. And I think Wolf's job will come down to how well he fixes the Oline and WRs.
Wolf couldn’t get anyone to sign here last year because they didn’t know who Mayo was. Now they know the answer, and that answer isn’t very good. Do we think Wolf will have any more success signing anyone this year?

"I'm not going to talk about specific players" then immediately names a specific player.

He's gotta be trolling Thunder at this point.

Well when Mayo fires AVP, that'll give WR free agents a ton of confidence. After all, Mayo's nothing but filled with leadership qualities.

And replaces AVP with… who? AVP was like the 12th choice but first person to actually agree to take the job. And he gets treated like “the problem” and gets scapegoated? Good luck finding an OC who wants to step into that role and work under a lame duck HC. You’d be lucky to find a new guy who is even as good as AVP is now, and he’s not even good.

(I realize you were joking but wanted to make the point regardless)

If no one wanted the job this spring they certainly won't want it next spring with Mayo on the hot seat.

That’s why firing him still makes the most sense.

I was thinking about who the Krafts could have called about supporting a young QB.
I’m willing to bet Josh McDaniels, Charlie Weis, were the first people they called.

Promise all applicants their own mural plus a chance to ring the tiny bell on the inland lighthouse once Kraft's celebrity buddies cycle through.

I’m rooting for the media to crank up the heat as they’ve been doing after each loss.

However, they need to include Wolf because he’s the biggest problem behind the scenes.

Is anyone more familiar with how much of a hand Wolf had with drafting 2020-2022? The drafts from 2023-2024 are certified garbage as we know, with some _defensive_ standouts sprinkled in. 2020-2022 are pretty much the same, again, with a few defensive standouts.

Also what the hell is Groh up to and how responsible is he in all of this? Why is our front office helmed by two Nepo babies?

The statement you made was (direct quote): "I've been a fan since the early 60's. The team has gone through stretches where it wasn't very good, as you would expect over so long a time, but I have never seen the team as incompetently managed as this."

You cannot possibly be so stupid as to not see how the above statement opens the door to comparisons between this Patriots team and past Patriots teams.

I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you simply lost track of the conversation and aren't as stupid as your most recent response makes it seem.

That I don't know, but I think the "collaboration" started in 2021 after Bob had discussed with the media how bad the drafts have been after the 2020 disaster.

I believe Nick Caserio pushed for AJ Brown, but Bill wanted Harry. He's drafted some pretty good WR's in Houston.

However, scouts were pissed and walked out of the room when Bill wanted to take Chandler Jones in the 1st round in 2012.

These are just two examples of how the scouts can get it right and get it wrong.

McAdoo? Though they said McAdoo is working on our 3rd down plays, which we’ve pretty much been terrible at.

“Squandering his rookie season is one thing. If you end up building a culture of losing around him for another season, or God forbid more, you risk it becoming permanent.”

Please block me or ignore me or whatever. I have no interest in discussing this matter or anything else with an angry jackass.

From Mayo's presser today. Says he isn't going to talk about specific players then he proceeds to talk about Boutte. Does he ever think before he open's his mouth?

Q: I think it was Nate Tice that posted on Twitter that Kayshon Boutte isn't finishing all his routes, at least from what he's seen. Have you seen an issue with that at all with Kayshon this year?
JM: I'm not going to talk about specific players. I think we all have to get better. For me, when you talk about Boutte, it's get open and catch the ball. I mean, that's your job as a wide receiver. 'Receiver' is in the title of your job, your job description, and that's our expectation.

Yep and the Kraft mouthpieces are walking everything back. Keep saying the Mayo hot seat stuff was all a media creation etc.

He is coming back and will be back almost 100 percent assured of that. If they haven't fired him at this point they aren't going to. Every single week his team underperforms. Every single week he says one or two dumbass comments and the very next day, walks them back. This has been so far 13 games and it all goes back to his hiring press conference until now.

He should be fired, everyone knows it but Kraft won't do it. He's rather see his team burn to the ground than make the right decision. Unless he is or has started having dementia or what, but he is acting like a dumbass owner that has zero idea what is the right thing to do.

I’ve been rooting for this team since 1979. I’ve seen it all & I’d put the current state of the team at the Victor Kiam/Patriot Missle low. This organization isn’t just bad (as it was under the Sullivan’s), it’s embarrassing.

All thanks to a no talent weasel who rose the corporate ladder by backstabbing BB. We all should have known when BOB walked away from an NFL OC role to take a college OC role, that Mayo was hopelessly in over his head. And it’s been worse than i could have possibly imagined.

And now the weasel wants to go back to his favorite gameplan & backstab AVP (the only coach on his staff that has a clue) to trick old Thunder into giving him another season. It’s sickening & despicable.
