Belichick remarks on Mayo's "soft" comments on Pat McAfee Show - "They're not soft"

Yes it does. Talent matters just a little bit more.
Has Wolf been good at acquiring talent outside of signing back Patriot players or taking a slam dunk QB at #3?

Don’t be your typical evasive self, answer the question.

Put Maye with last years roster and coaches and we are a playoff contender.
This needs qualification, if Jonathan doesn’t meddle we’re in a much better place… but they probably wouldn’t have ended up with Maye either.

Did Jon Kraft steal your girlfriend in high school or something?

This is Wolf's first draft. I don't count drafts with former GM Bill as those were 100% his responsibility. All other opinions on that are trash.

It's 7 games into a 17 game season with a rookie HC and rookie GM so I'm not jumping to conclusions about anything. Including Maye.

Correct. With Bill we were a QB away. With this new front office screwing everything up and without Bill to coach around it we are way farther away then I think anyone could have imagined but just keep doubling down on your incorrect and outdated takes.
Really weird how people forget that we were 4-13 last season with Bill.

Unless you're mixing us up with the 2019 Bucs - now that was a team that was just a QB away and proved that correct the season after.

This team was a lot of things away including coaching. Which they may still be.

That’s not even legible English. I asked if only about Wolf and you shifted the blame and conversation to Bill. Tells us about Wolf, and not just his draft picks but his shtty free agent signings. Why are his only good signings Patriot free agents if Bill was so bad at his job?

Reading comprehension problems huh? That's cool

I said I'm not jumping to conclusions about anything when it's not even halfway into his rookie season as GM after his first draft.

Yes Okorafor was a mistake. And? What GM hasn't made mistakes? Bill certainly has. And your hoodied hero was very bad at his job over the last 2 seasons. That's not debatable.

It's clearly Mac Jones fault like everything else anywhere. F'n Mac is the worst person in the history of the world. Everything about him sucks.
Defend the wall!
That's your gig not mine. CoLL@BoRatI0n

Bill didn’t force the team to resign almost all its free agents from a 4-13 team and bring in virtually no external help outside the draft. And outside of the QB, this draft ranks right up there so far with Bill’s worst.

Bill is "Also" responsible for the state of the roster. Does this now meet with your approval? It should, when one considers that it's, like, you know, true 'n stuff.

He had his shot at a rebuild in 2023, and they went 4-13. That's when most people got off the bus. Like, the vast majority were willing to say 'it's time'.

What they disagree with was the smear campaign afterwards, and completely whiffing on the draft and free agency except for Maye, and hiring a coaching staff that's completely in over their head.

'Hurr durr it's all Bill's fault' at this point is ridiculous, for that reason.

Except that NOBODY is claiming that it is.

It's funny how the 'The roster is Belichick's fault' contingent, are the same people that were just fine with these re-signings.
If you mean the "The roster is ALL Bill's fault" contingent, then I can't speak for them; but if you mean the "The roster is Both the Old boss' And the New boss' fault" contingent, then I can assure you that at least one member of that one - namely, me - was absolutely Not just fine with some of these re-signings.

The regressions of Dugger and specifically Onwenu has been drastic. I think Godchaux's finally starting to be a true DT, but he's all alone out there. I thought Bentley was playing as well as he ever has until he got hurt. Jelani Tavai was so bad last week he got pulled.
Speaking of whom...

It's curious how Bill gets credit for last year's draft class good players, but Johnathan is credited for all the bad picks and decisions.

The person I was responding to said Bill was 100% responsible for the state of the roster, as a way to deflect blame from Mayo for his performance. I was showing how it’s not true, the current group bears responsibility too.
