This was never going to be a great season

Do you have a link? I’m curious to read those comments and what else he said.
I'll try to find something on it. I know it was just something he said during mini camp when he was asked about mapu.

Starting with Gonzo and White that was a pretty good draft.

Ryland sucked but Baringer has been pretty damn good so I just think that is what it is.

But they didn't draft for need which is why the team is in the post it's in today. Having a shutdown corner is nice and all but finding Tackles was way more important.

That's an interesting debate. I'm not sure what is more critical to a team CB1 or LT. It's easy to say LT when our OL is in its current state but we absolutely needed Gonzo too.

What also sucks is from this QB class the only one the Pats could see consistently is Nix if he stays in Denver. The rest are all in the NFC so we will rarely get to see Maye vs Williams, Daniels, McCarthy, Penix etc etc over the years. Kind of a shame really.

Bill had final say until he left over all football decisions. That was his job. He drafted Jones. Jones was 100% his boy and his responsibility.

Either Bill ruined Jones or Bill made the mistake of drafting him with a first round pick. Take your pick, there's no other option.
Talk about 2024 or pipe down. Nobody cares about the past.

You have zero opinion about this year or anything the current regime has done.

Mac played last night, nearly threw an INT and fumbled and lost the ball on 8 pass attempts... but you say Mac is good? Laughable...

Talk about Wolf/Mayo... the bad man is gone. The crap sandwich we're eating now is because of this regime.

Don't worry most of them will not be starting in 3-4 years.

There weren't any tackles to be found in the 2023 draft. The only one we could have taken was Broderick Jones (our original 14th overall spot) and he just got benched at RT. Gonzo was a great pick. Maybe you could make an argument for taking Sam LaPorta (TE) 17th overall instead of Gonzo.

Here they come!

CB was one of the biggest needs on the defense and right behind the OL as overall need. It was as clear as day Bill was taking a CB when good to elite WR's were either breaking their CB's ankles or Moss'ing them for jump balls all day long. The Cincy game in 2023 was the nail in the coffin.

Brodrick Jones was a hot topic here, but it's not going well for him right now. Also, the Pats would've had to trade up to get him.

The Gonzalez pick is aging very well so far.

This has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with Wolf signing or relying on terrible players like Okorafor, Lowe, Jordan, Leverett and trying to develop late round draft picks to start on the OLine.

You’re excuse makers trying to run cover for the new regime because you hated/resented the old guy.

U still haven't acknowledged how we got here. It's a reason we are here wasn't overnight.

We have many, many holes in this roster. The defense is now coming apart at the seams. You don’t need a “tRuE nuMBeR oNE WiDe REcEEEEVer” to not have a pathetic, worst in the league offense.
Like you said we have too many holes in this roster for it to be anything other than a multi-year rebuild. In retrospect should we have focused on O-line before WRs after the QB pick, looks like it doesn't it. But I am thinking if we did, we probably will be blaming Wolf for lack of WR talent. Remember up until these last two games, all the talk was trading for Justin Jefferson, Higgins, C Dee Lamb, Brandon Aiyuk etc, very little for O-line talent. What does bother me is us holding tight on all that cap space. Maybe we didn't use it because it rolls over till next year or maybe we are just too cheap.

Absolutely agree! I can definitely agree with that. Can't believe we actually thought stidham was a good QB.

Instead we got the ghost/shell of Scam Newton, a bad OL, and the rest. Even if we kept the behemoth Mr Brown, we would still be here. As previously discussed, the cupboard was woefully left bare. We have been terrible and with all the changes, hopefully things will start to get dialed in so we can finally get out of bottom feeder status within the next decade…. :O

Why won’t you talk about 2024?
Sure, wanna talk about that "above average" QB Brissett that you kept telling us about all summer? When will we see that guy?

I see the guy I expected... a journeyman backup QB.
