Gotta make this happen I’ve been calling for this.

I’d be open to it if he agrees to say a 2 year extension.

He made it clear he'd like to go to a contender. He indirectly was hoping he was getting traded to SF.

Last night should've made it very clear Brandon Aiyuk did the Pats and the fanbase a solid by rejecting a trade there. This OL is in dire need of help.

I would do it - he’s an experienced middle of the pack WR1 who would be able to immediately step into AVP’s offense. He’s at the later part of his career so it doesn’t prevent you from still trying to get another WR1 via free agency, draft or trade as opportunity arises. And I know people say “but what about LT!!!” - you can only trade for the guys that are available. I don’t know of any quality LTs on the market and they have gobs of money. You may as well plug a gap on this team when you get the chance. He’d be very good for Maye too - reliable guy to lean on as a young player, and opens up things for Polk/Bourne and Pop who are already fairly good at getting open.

You get it, these are all my thoughts and reasons for wanting him as well,

Him and Bourne with Douglas in the slot.

AVPs offense? You mean watching the QB handing off to the RBs as they get swarmed, or running for his life?

I’m sorry but at this point I don’t have much faith in AVP. We’ve been hearing how Maye should play, and he went 4 for 8 while being sacked twice. It’s nothing one middle of the pack WR can fix. We need a decent LT plus an RT and maybe OG help as well. Then we can talk about skill players.

Edit to add: maybe if he can be gotten for a fourth, but don’t trade any higher picks because those are the key to improving the OL.

Wonder why he may possibly be a trade target? Not injured. Just turned 30. 2 games, 5 catches for 27 yards. Slow start but he was prolific in recent years. Players just don’t fall off a production cliff.

I don’t think Maye running the hurry up for 8 plays behind a patchwork OL is representative of what the offense would truly look like with him as the starter

he does not want to be there.

and while getting him would be nice, i cannot see why he would agree to come here unless we offer a ridiculous contract extension...

want to spend stupid money, wait til next year and go after the browns left tackle Jedrick Wills... he's fallen off a bit, and might just be available in free agency next year... maybe even this year

He’s going to be behind a patchwork OL anytime he plays this season. There was no reason to be running the hurry up for game strategy so I’m thinking the real reason they ran it was to give Maye a chance at survival. So I think what we saw Thursday may well be representative of what we’d see with Maye running the offense Even as starter this year.

Agreed. Better off with the guys you have and trying to get something out of them. Why baker's not playing is a mystery to me. I mean he's at least good enough for some deep shot attempts. I think we all can expect LT to be the biggest FA need for Drake next season.
