I think the reason we have not been able to reap the benefits of a consistent o-line is that the personnel is just so lousy. Perhaps if they had settled on a group early and stuck with it, we might arguably be better off, but I don't buy it. To do so we would have had to forego to a degree evaluating the o-linement not chosen to be part of that group, which would have been a genuine loss, given how insecure a sense we had - perhaps have - of the merits of the ragtag gaggle of players assembled by those who acquired them under Bill and subsequently. It may be, I suppose, that the present coaching staff working with the o-linemen is not up to the job, but I myself have no evidence whatsoever that that is the case. How would one know?

It's a guessing game, and there is blame enough to go around, Lord knows, but I think the main driver of the o-line's inadequacy is the poor quality of the players on hand, a couple of them aside. If I had to pick someone to blame, it would be the drafting work of present and past GM's. Neither Bil nor the new guy did a remotely responsible job of maintaining/building an o-line roster worthy of an NFL team.

If the present GM, or whatever his title is, can't remedy the o-line issue in the next draft/trade/free agent phase, I'd fire him. I think in fact that there might even be a strengthening case to be made that given the questionable quality of his work both under Bill and subsequently, we might do well give up on him even sooner.

One hears how broadly admired Wolf is in "GM community." Maybe they just like having squishy-as-a-grape adversaries heading up other teams' draft rooms - guys they can out-think and take advantage of. Maybe it's not so much admiration as gratitude for the incompetence of an adversary. Maybe the Wolf is a kitty. Maybe he's just a nice guy elevated by nepotism to a job he cannot do.
You have valid points. Lowe, Wheatley, Anderson.. we're all here last season and we're in the the program. I understand Anderson as his situation was non football related. Lowe and Wheatley were guys from other teams who probably would be on other teams PS if anything depth guys. Chuks played RT in pitt... however he was asked to play LT here.. Wallace and Robinson drafted.. and will be default have to play big roles this season. It seems like the team was thinking someone would separate themselves during camp to be the starter.. seemingly that's lowe. He's not healthy and now the depth is challenged. At this point we have all this money still sign David bhatkihari with bis experience he'd be at least good enough on this team.

I expect us to lose in a close game, with very little changing as far as offensive potency.
We'll keep it close, okay run game, but it'll come down to 4th qtr where JB can't move the passing O when the game depends on it.
That will increase the noise for Maye. But, they won't play him yet - until after the SF trip.
I just hope that these next two games allow the OL to get more healthy (move Big Mike back to RG, play Wallace at either T)
And for the WR's to keep improving, expanding their playbook. Maybe even getting Bourne back after week 4...
So Maye will start (or at least come in 2nd half) vs MIA in week 5.
I'm thinking 23-13 patriots... that's what my gut instincts tell me. However the passing situation just has me apprehensive. If we can get a INT or fumble, STs play that could be the differences.

Thursday games tend to be sloppy it's expected to rain so I think that helps our defense. Slow down the run game and make the Jets 1 dimensional. Just start the healthiest 5 guys up front and run with it at this point. Defense has taken a hit with Barmore and Bentley..

How is that relevant to the patriots? Brissett isn't getting over 100 against Sauce.
Knowing about your opponents is always relevant.

No Sidy Sow or Vederian Lowe, and David Andrews/Mike Onwenu are questionable. However, I am guessing Andrews/Onwenu play since they are traveling.

Jordan will be the LG as it has been, but the LT spot will be a problem. Hopefully Wallace steps up.

I like it. I entertained the idea of possible wolf looking into trading for Jhaire Alexander to pair with gonzo on the outside. We have some guys but no one has separated themselves on the outside yet. I think we all collective agree the O line is priority. We need to draft at least 2 tackles IMO. Leonard Williams was available last season we should have been in on. So I'm thinking OTs , CB, LB, DE in the draft?
Christian Wilkins was also available in FA. Wilkins, Barmore and White would be one of the best groups around.

Your right. We should have been in on him.. we looked pretty stacked initially with Barmore, judon and all the other guys. Now the depth is tested. White is a budding star..

ABVL = Anyone But Vederian Lowe I hope he ends up IR he's putrid.

We'll probably run a lot of Double TE formations tomorrow night to help the passing game.

I can't even believe how bad our OL situation is. It started off weak and risky, and they've been dropping like flies.

Now, even Lowe is out. So seriously, who's going to play LT?? Wallace seems the only option. With Jacobs the backup?
That's a horrible spot to put the rookie RT.
This could get ugly quick against the Jets DL. And just inexcusable for personnel staff.

Pats weren't signing Wilkins to the sort of deal he got and not for the years he got.

4+ 1 Void for $110M.. When he's 29?

Your won't be able to tell the difference if Lowe is in or out anyway. I kept saying wolf need to sign bhaktiari.. he's just sitting there collecting dust.. he be instantly the best tackle we have.

What haven't we signed bhaktiri? I mean I know he's a older player.. but we need proven guys. I don't know why he hasn't been brought in for a workout.

Ok, so Wallace starts. let him play and make his mistakes. It's not like we are going to win with Brissett at QB.

I'm not certain that helps. TE as first look every play is not working well. I just saw Mike Dussault say the Pats didn't have any turnovers last week. I guess he didn't count the blocked punt. Apparently only looking at Jacoby turnovers or lack thereof. I'm still anticipating a Jets blowout.

You mean the blocked Field goal? Which was a 4th down and a turnover on downs since it moved against of the LOS?
