It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I'm surprised no one is talking about Tua having to leave last night's game with another concussion. Miami has felt the need to bring in another QB, and for now consider Skylar Thompson the starter.
The media is busy talking about whether Tua should hang them up.
It is easy for people with no skin in the game to tell other people what to do.
Tua has about 120 million reasons to keep playing.
Perversely, that also gives the Dolphins the incentive to find someone willing to clear him to play; because of how his contract works, if he is unable to play, he still gets all that guaranteed money. If he chooses to retire while cleared to play, then he might not get any of it.It is easy for people with no skin in the game to tell other people what to do.

I have no idea why he went head first. Absolutely no reason to do that.
That being said, the big danger with concussions is repeated trauma in the aftermath while still recovering. It's up to Tua to be smart and respect his recovery, which is a tall task for any athlete, as we know - unless they're Garappollo - they have a tendency to never want to stop.
The main difference between normal concussive events and Tua is you can't hide Tua's concussions. His brain fires neurons in a way that is always giving him this fencing position, which doesn't mean it's any worse than another concussion, it's just way more... Scary? To see.
Someone pointed it out - maybe @Sam Bam Cunningham in the game thread - it was odd how they didn't really address it in the game, and if you watch the highlights it skips right over everything.
NFL does not **** with talking about this anymore.
He also needed to learn to play with a sense of self preservation after his college career ended with a catastrophic out of pocket hit. He’s the last player in the league who should be diving headfirst to get a first down in garbage time.Tua needed to be more proactive about his own health.
Understandably, he's not going to not play... too much money left unpaid on his freshly inked deal for that to happen...
teams are letting players wear the guarding cap in game... I get its unsightly, with that team branded shower cap stretched over it... but ugly > getting your brains scrambled...
Players ***** about player safety, and rightly so... but at a certain point then need to get on board by upgrading their protective gear...
I said this in the other thread. Tua really needs to consider retiring. At this rate, he might not even see 50 years old with all these concussions. Kevin Turner died at 46. Dwight Clark died at 61. Steve Gleason is 47 and a quadapaligic suffering from ALS. Tim Shaw is 40 and the same. Steve McMichael is 66 and the same.
I mean I know he loves the game and all and stands to make a lot of money, but is it worth being a quadriplegic and having a breathing tub in your 40s and dying shortly after?
It may already be too late for him to avoid getting ALS. But the odds get greater and greater with every concussion.
Highly agree. I hope Tua has the right people around him that truly care about his needs. Becuase at this point the amount if concussions ect he's taken is just sad to see him have to endure.I have no idea why he went head first. Absolutely no reason to do that.

Concussions are weird. Very case by case. I think Matt Hoffman (professional BMX) has enough concussions for 5 NFL players and he's still going. I bet Edelman has quite a few concussions. Hard to understand where that cut off mark is.
And just like that, the Dolphins are back in QB purgatory with the Jets right behind them. Amazing how that happens so quickly. Dolphins and Jets fans didn't have much time to ridicule Pats fans about our QB situation.I'm surprised no one is talking about Tua having to leave last night's game with another concussion. Then there's the almost complete opposite side of the coin where his mom has a tremendous amount of skin in the game even though he's a grown man (considering the skin actually came from her), and she's been wanting for him to retire for a few years. It is easy for people with no skin in the game to tell other people what to do.

Pretty sure Steve young established where the cut off point was. If memory serve the consensus was,,, umm Steve Retire while you can still can.Concussions are weird. Very case by case.
