Celtics 2024-2025 Discussion

The Lonnie pick up was huge! Guy scared score all over the court and hit the 3.. go back on watch the last game against the nets last season against us.
Yes, even though ideally another adequate big man replaces Porzingis’s minutes, any positive contributor will greatly help the team overcome the void. Celtics one potential issue is / was their depth. If Walker is a decent player, which he has been in the past, they now have starting 5 plus Hauser, Pritchard, and Walker, three players who are starting caliber with the right circumstances. Add Horford, whose gives starter quality minutes when he plays. Tillman is also a decent role player / reserve. That’s above average depth.

More on Walker from Karalis today:

- For those who don’t know, Walker cut his signature dreadlock look off a few years ago for very personal reasons, which he shared on Instagram:

“The real truth as to why i started doing this early 5th grade, it was a cloaking device for me. During the summer of my 5th grade year I was around more family. Some that names will be left alone I was around more. I was sexually harassed, raped, abused, I even got accustomed to it because being at that age you don’t know what is what. I was a gullible curious kid that didn’t know what the real world was. I had a mindset that my hair was something that I can control. My hair was what I can make and create and be mine. And it gave my confidence.”

He shared his story so he could make a difference for someone else who had gone through something similar. So if any of us were wondering if he is strong enough to handle adversity, I’d answer that he’s handled the worst adversity of his life already.
Wow. That's horrible what happened to him.
But he is one mentally tough hombre.

Agree. Porzingas makes us a difficult team whenever he's available. I think the team knows that he will miss time the remainder of his NBA career. He's supposed to be out until December right?

Lonnie walker is a flat out stud. The guys a scorer. Should JT or JB have to miss time he can fill in admirable. He's s as solid defensive player too. I still think Brad should still be seeking to add another big man.

55 to 58 wins. Guy is high.
My ? was I didn't understand the post.
Didn't realize he was saying 55-58 wins C's will do that easily.
I don't get the graphic though- isn't every C's fan option #1( excited)

It’s a joke. Because the Celtics are / were known for playing down to competition. However, last year that wasn’t the case very much. The joke was more applicable to 2017-23.

Is he Mike's kid ?

They most certainly played down to their competition last year. They lost to at least two teams that were missing their leading scorer(s).

They won 64 games. If you play 82 games, you’re going to lose some games you’re not supposed to lose; it’s just probability. Those Hawks games were peak Celtics 2017-2023, but other than that they were remarkably good at taking care of lesser opponents.

People were saying they continued to blow big leads, but it’s because they had a 20+ point lead in half their games (41).

My concern remains their crap down-the-stretch iso desperation fadeaway offense when a team can play toe to toe with them, which we saw when they were challenged by teams like Denver and Minnesota.

I think every NBA team does the ISO thing as a fall back during the season. I don't disagree with you about it being a vulnerability. Some of those 20 point leads were acquired while other teams did that.

I don’t think so. He’s probably their X best blogger. Breaks a lot of stories.
I like that kid, his obsessiveness about the Celtics borders on psychotic. I say that as a good thing. He will literally get worked up about a missed free-throw in a summer league game

Yes but not every team has five all star level players on the court to create open looks with patience.
