There's a disturbing trend (which Owners are enabling) where one elite player gets paid, then a lessor player thinks he should get more.

Aiyuk should cut off contract talks with SF at this point and focus on having another good season. If he does, he will get a better deal then he has on the table.

Agreed.

However, the pot of money is limited. So, the more that is paid to these "top" players, the less the teams have to sign others. I think that some positions like RB's become downright bargains. There is a tremendous advantage to playoff teams that can build their top quality rosters without paying 2-3 players more than $25M each.

I dunno, he's 32 next year, never really won anything, paid a bunch of money to him. I think if some team wants to throw him 50 mil/yr, they'll let him walk, and they might be letting him walk anyway.
