Sure, but I wouldn't call it the Caserio Way and he was Director Of Player Personnel... not an assistant. So did caserio have anything to do with the roster when he was here?
I'd rather have the third overall pick.Agreed my friend. They still went 7-9
Even if QB play is even just OK (and considerably below average), we will likely be the 25th or so Offense, a major improvement over 2023, and a major step towards competing for the playoffs in 2025.Brissett is clearly a better QB than Jones or Zappe. It's the main reason I like the Pats' chances to improve this year. And if Maye turns into the real deal it's even better.
If he turns out to be your best receiver but the OC can't figure out how to use him, then the OC is the problem.Anyone else seeing articles that speculate that DD isn't a great fit for AVP's offense?
Apparently AVP uses a lot of 2 wide receiver sets without as much utilization of the slot.
Sounds silly to me.
He's miles better than Mac if only because of his ball security.Wozzy: Biscuit sucks he's not that much of an upgrade over Mac another weak armed QB. I am watching Drake Maye all Preseason his development will tell us if we're picking in the Top 5 again. That will surely happen if Biscuit is the Starter for the long haul something I'm not looking forward to.
I haven’t heard anything about it, and I hope it isn’t true. Slot receivers play a critical role in allowing the WB to get rid of the ball immediately when under pressure.Anyone else seeing articles that speculate that DD isn't a great fit for AVP's offense?

I agree that Pop should get a prominent spot in this offense. 90 targets may be too many to expect in this offense. San Fran's (west coast offense with a strong running game) 336 receptions from last year as the benchmark for the Pats. They had 4 players with 83-105 targets. Only Aiyuk was targeted more than 90 times. All of the receivers, the running backs and tight ends should all be in the mix for the high volume, short passing game which will limit the number of targets for any one player. With his ability to make people miss, the number of yards gained will be the best way measure how effective the scheme leverages Pop's skills.Pop was very good against man and zone last year and looks to be a very promising young WR. I have alot of faith in AVP, but if pop doesn't get at least 90 targets then I think the O scheme is a problem.
Pop is the best wr on the team.Anyone else seeing articles that speculate that DD isn't a great fit for AVP's offense?

Without questionPop is the best wr on the team.
Pop isn't built for "often".I don't gaf what offense youre running, you must get the ball in his hands. Often.
"Power run game" and aerial bombardments.............YOWZA!AVP will find a way. Once Maye takes over, likely at some point in the season, watch Pop and Polk go off
If Pop got stronger this offseason there’s no reason you can’t pepper him with targets. His body isn’t so different from Tank Dell, Tyreek or any other slot receiver. Sproles was a RB. Feed that man, no need to limit his touches.Without question
Pop isn't built for "often".
At some point the organization will conclude Pop's touches must be limited in order to get him through the long seasons.
Think Darren Sproles

If possible.............then hard to fathom why AVP was NE's last choice for OC
I like Polk a lot but I think Baker might be just as good or even better.I bet we run more three WR sets. Polk is an exciting prospect.
He doesn’t have his agility, but is similar in stature, speed and explosiveness to Deion Branch. The Squirrel: I think Pop Douglas could be a volume catcher in this Offense a 10 catch a game guy. Pop looks unrecoverable.
I think he Pop could be a 1000 yards WR in this Offense with good health he's a walking First Down.He doesn’t have his agility, but is similar in stature, speed and explosiveness to Deion Branch.
Demario’s stop and go ability is hard to match. They should load him up with WR screens and find unique ways to get the ball in his hands.

It's interesting to see just how big Drake Maye is walking between his two fellow rookies who are both 6'1" 205 pounds. I saw Drake in person at Carolina a few times and he looks bigger here than he did last year. He's a good QB, runs the ball well (although sometimes too much) and can throw on the run. Drake Maye was a monster his sophomore year when he was surrounded with loads of talent. The report on JB is he was signed to mentor the New QB, he knows AVP system, and play if need be. Mayo has said everything is up for competition...
