Youth movement.
You can't get rid of every veteran. And the Pats are going to have to play defense at some point during the season. Will they need to replace him at some point? Yes but why create a hole in your team when you don't need to. This one one of BB's flaws that contributed to him not coaching here anymore.

Anyone who suggests the Pats bring in Fields gets muted. Give it up already. Not happening

It’s funny how so many calling for that seem to think Chicago would flip him for a 6th.

Same people here who think we should sit a rookie QB for a year.

It worked with Brady.
Oh, I know. My point is, if Chicago is drafting Caleb, why wouldn't they sit HIM for a year?

Even if not, why would they trade Fields for nothing when they'll need a competent backup QB and they have him on the cheap?

The sports jocks and others clamoring for Fields act like he's a free agent, or is being dangled for a day 3 pick. Is that really the case? I doubt it.

I hope Calvin Ridley is not stringing us along I hope Wolf offers $3Mill more than Jaxs Ridley have to feed his family money talks.

Don't get me started on Justin Fields "*wipes his tears *" I think AVP can fix him.

Would you give up pick 66 for him?

Because that's at least what it would cost.

No it wouldn't. They seem to have trouble finding a buyer right now.

Good luck to the Bears with that

Honestly, are there 2 Justin Fields out there? It this similar to the 2 Josh Allan's? Is the good one a WR?

Say it with me: Missed 37 games over the last 4 seasons. That means 9 games without him.. Hasn't played a full season in 8 years.
He would still be an upgrade over what is currently on the roster even if he isn’t going to play in every game.

Why are you so sure they NEED a buyer?

They draft Williams, who might be amazing, but needs a lot of work. They run with Fields at least to the trade deadline, when a contending team might have an injury. It's not like they signed a really good vet QB, not a Brady-Winston situation, by any means.

I wouldn't move Fields, who's relatively cheap, while I'm trying to prepare a rookie QB. If Fields keeps improving and goes out there next year and lights it up, Chicago will get a haul for him at the trade deadline. Of if not that, they'll get a 3rd round comp pick when he signs elsewhere the following year for a boatload of cash.

Why in the world would you off-load those possibilities for a worthless 6th rounder?
