Bill’s first offer…

Stop answering for other people, especially when they've said something factually inaccurate.

Also coaches aren't players, they don't have an expiration date.

You clowns have been celebrating for the last two weeks
“Celebrating”
that nobody wanted BB, now it comes out he turned down the Falcons. Again... deluded.
Third hand info and flimsy speculation not news.
Two teams were in on Tom Brady in 2020 after you ballwashers were telling us all offseason that half the league would be interested. The free market determines everything, not your level of delusion.
Half the league? I don’t remember anyone saying that at the time.

Sure… no hate. Just you and the boys celebrating BB’s unemployment for 31 pages. Laughable.

He’ll have a job next season unless he retires outright, book it now.
A job… maybe. A job as NFL head coach? Don’t count on it.

Boomer spoke with a league executive... that's a lot better than you jokers guessing what happened.

No different than the league executive guessing what happened cause that’s what he did.

Florio has a different story. Blank was told outright by his management not to hire Bill. So he didn’t. That has more substance to me then “Well he could have offered him a job…”

But they do. There's only been 4 FT HCs that coached into their 70s out of over 500 (<1%). That right there says there is an expiration date. The last two remaining 70+ HCs were fired this season. They both tried to get a job. Neither one was hired. Both of them are HOF coaches. It didn't matter.

Everyone is trying to move on but you keep bringing this up. Move on man, nobody cares.

It turned out other teams were also interested but it doesn't really matter if it was 1 or 2 or 4. The free market determined Brady got a contract, where he won a SB in his 1st year. The free market determined that Bill didn't. We agree.

Welp, Wozzy finally lost it after watching Bill get fired and failing to find a job this year.

Pretty delusional to think a a coach in his 70's wants to actually take a year off or that he secretly had a job offer and just passed.

A league executive said he specifically heard BB turned down the offer. You hate the result so you need to obfuscate what was said or deny it happened at all... but you're not a hater.

Blank's management didn't want BB hired because most of them would be fired. I think Blank returned with an offer that had BB working with Rich McKay and BB turned it down. The team can spin it any way they want to spin it.

BB can wait a year for the job that's perfect, or he'll have to adjust his expectations and hitch his wagon to an exceptional GM. But he'll find a coaching job next season, unless he just chooses to retire after a summer off.

Welp, the bitter ex-wives club was celebrating BB's demise and it turns out he turned down the job.

Now they're flailing...

Stop sniffing glue.
With the jackals around here I think I chose the wrong off-season to quit sniffing glue.

We'll revive this thread in a little over year or so when the Eagles or Cowboys are struggling again and their coaches, whose seats got pretty hot at the end of last season, are struggling again.

We'll have a good laugh at the glue sniffers expense.

That's my guess on what happened too, but it's only a guess based on leaked information.

For me it's common sense and based a lot on what Mike Lombardi said before BB turned the job down. Rich McKay has been Blank's boy since he bought the team, been there from the beginning. He helped build a new stadium, he's been on the NFL competition committee forever.

It's hard to fire people you consider loyal employees, family... much easier to see if you can have both things. BB probably didn't see it that way. He and McKay don't get along, that's common knowledge in NFL circles. It was one way or the other.

Team Bill desperately clinging onto Boomer Esiason regurgitating a third hand comment.

He is guessing too

Do you really think there are better headcoaching gigs next year than the chargers and hawks this year? Those teams did not even consider bb on their top Tier list of candidates

Do you think a over 70 year old HC can wait a year and sit?

Do you think next year more teams will be interested in him? Then pls explain why

This is where I think Bill ends up, working for ESPN or one of the others.

From the Athletic.

"A similar situation unfolded with Belichick and the eight teams looking for new coaches this offseason. Those teams knew Belichick was more qualified than other candidates. They were not interested in the package that went along with hiring him: handing over full control of football operations."

“If I were an owner, I would interview Bill for two days, six hours per day, just to learn football,” an exec from another team said. “And the whole time, I’m thinking, ‘Do I want to change my structure?'”

"The way things played out, the Falcons were not interested enough in Belichick to risk losing Raheem Morris as an alternative, so they hired Morris before he was scheduled to meet with the Seattle Seahawks."

"This wound up being a rough hiring cycle for coaches with reputations for having stronger personalities and/or being heavy-handed in their dealings with others. Belichick, Mike Vrabel, Brian Flores and Eric Bieniemy missed out."

"This isn’t necessarily good or bad. It’s just notable that ownership generally deferred to front offices by hiring younger, less empowered coaches."

Not sure what that has to do with teams wanting nothing to do with a soon to be 72 year old head coach insisting on full control of football ops who was fired by his team in part for losing seasons in 3 of his last 4 years and cratering to 4-13 last season...

For me it's common sense and based a lot on what Mike Lombardi said before BB turned the job down.
Which very likely did not happen.
