We Drafting a QB

Trade back six picks for Fields, get Fields and Bears #9 for #3. That's if it goes Williams and Maye 1 and 2
So in this scenario, you'd pick up Justin Fields, miss out on the top 4 QBs in the draft, the 2 best WRs and the two best OTs. Most likely.
But you'll have Justin Fields, I guess.

Maybe squeeze them for another pick since we could just take MHJ
Said another way, do you want Daniels or Fields and say Nabers, understanding Fields is closer to a new contract than Daniels

who do you have as QB4? I think you can get one of Nabers, Bowers, Alt or Fashanu at #9, or otherwise the first defensive player off the board. I prefer taking Maye at #3, but im not sold on Daniels there, rather take Fields+ #9 and take a QB top of Rd 2

They'll get 34 and like it.

Are you working for the enemy?

Agreed. Pretty easy for me. Take a QB at 3, LT at #33..
It is just possible that the team will want McCarthy or Nix more than they want Daniels.

Would you really pick one of them at #3? Perhaps we would if we wanted only one of the two,

If we are OK with either, then trading down makes sense.
=================================
I would note that some have 6 QB's being drafted in the top 15, so the "reach" is less than we might think. After all, consider the Mac draft. Who was considered the #3 QB on the board? Fields was rumored to be #3 as was Mac. After the fact, the answer should have been Fields.

Agreed! So I've pitched the idea what do you think about taking Marvin Harrison Jr. At #3, a LT at #33 , trading a 2nd for fields?.

That’s the only alternative I’d consider if we didn’t want Maye or Daniels. Even then I’m not confident in Fields at all.

It was Mac Jones or Trey Lance.

BTW- some of the non-QBs taken in the top 15 in 2021 (when 5 were taken in the top 15, and all but maybe one are a bust, including Fields) - Kyle Pitts, Ja'Marr Chase, Jaylen Waddle, Penei Sewell, Pat Surtain, Alijah Vera-Tucker, Micah Parsons, Devonta Smith.

Fields Would have a chip on his shoulder as well, we should right that wrong and trade for him.
We will have competition from Atlanta, Tenn, Mia maybe, Las, It’s going to cost more then we think it will.

Ok, I got on the other guy because I thought he was trading 2 first rounders for Fields.

Why would you trade a high second-rounder for him? What has he done to show that he's any better than what we have now?

At least at pick 3 you only need three names in your big board. It’s too damn early to be talking about specific positions at 34, much less actual names. Last year, no NFL tackles went between 27 and 92 (unless you’re drafting Bergeron/Steen and then not moving them to guard). That “second round tackle” didn’t exist.

It amazes me that people watched the Mac Jones/Bailey Zappe debacle for two straight years and think “hmm let’s trade down and grab a tackle and go get 35 y/o Kirk Cousins”.

People here sure seem content with the idea of being a treadmill 8-9 win team.

I agree, it makes no sense at all.

There is a balance between sacrificing in order to obtain a franchise QB, and setting him up to fail.

While a lot of the defense has a good nucleus, the offense would be setup to fail without any high draft capital the next few years.

Not sure we can give up 3 firsts, a couple 2nd’s, etc…
From #3 to #1 requires three 1st + couple of 2s? WTF

U can't be serious about what has he shown that is better than what we have are you?....?? Please tell me your pulling my leg.
