Jerod Mayo replaces BB as HC of the NEP...

High fives?

Struggling with it?

Or just waiting to see how it all comes out?

-Too soon for Mayo to be named HC of any NFL team.
-Should have hired an external GM first and let them conduct the coaching search.
-Would have heavily preferred an offensive mind at the helm.
-Mayo will not last three seasons as HC.

Would love if I'm an absolute moron and the Krafts just hired the next best young coach in the NFL, but do not expect it to play out that way.

Wasn't my first choice or even my second but overall I like Mayo as the guy. I think the GM and offensive coaching staff are just as important, if not more though.

Not a fan. But nothing to do but wait and see

I agree with the articles I’ve read that if we were to get rid of Bill then it should be a clean break and start fresh from the top down. This seems like it could very well just be a continuation of his regime

Trying to remain cautiously optimistic, but in reality very underwhelmed.

Would have preferred a complete change of guard along the lines of something like Adam Peters as GM and Ben Johnson as HC.

The defense was good, so keeping Mayo as DC would have been fine.

I'm a bit concerned his thought process might be too similar to Belichick's, as that is the only person Mayo has ever worked for. If Mayo emulates BB the DC, that's fine; he can't fall into habit of mimicking BB on offense, as HC, or as a talent evaluator in personnel decisions.

Not impressed with this decision. You let go of Belichick to just go with one his minions.
It has worked before, Tom Flores was a coach under Madden in oakland, George Seifert under Bill Walsh, in san fran. So it can work.
But those two inherited teams with a lot of talent, thats not the case with the pats.

I think it is a great move, he has a smaller learning curve as he knows all the players well already.
He will have to surround himself with a great OC (McDaniels) and a great DC (??), then take a hard look at Cam Achord as ST's sucked this year.
As important will be a strong front office who can select the right players for this team.
It is a new chapter and I think Mayo is a great choice..

I'm ok with it, can't be any worse than the past couple of years. Why not give him a shot?

Just relieved it's not McDaniels, Patricia, Bill O'Brien or Brian Flores.

Vrabel allegedly got fired from TN because he wanted GM powers and the ownership wouldn't play ball.

The whole Belichick split happened becuase of wanting the HC to stop being GM (becuase he's sucked at it for 5+ years in a row)

Would have preferred an offensive minded coach like Ben Johnson or Bobby Slowik. Hopefully they can upgrade the entire offensive coaching staff.

i have concerns, both with the move & how it was conducted

hope it's enough moving forward without forgetting the past, and not just a feels good for the media and fans but more of the same

Hopefully it’s a big never ending Mayo party!

I’m solidly in the wait and see camp.
